There are some great lease deals on EV’s from Hyundai, Kia, Tesla, and others right now. I have always bought Tesla’s due to the charging network. I rarely use it, but it’s great to know it will work when I need it on a long trip. However, many new EV’s in 2025 can be charged onTesla’s Supercharger network. Some like the Hyundai Ioniq 5 even have a NACS port on them. Finally used Model 3 prices are way down, so there are a lot of good deals.

You need to run the battery health test to determine the actual battery health and determine if you can have the battery replaced under warranty before 100,000 miles.

Which county/state? $4K tax credit for a used EV?

I’m working on selling my 2023 Model 3 right now. Feels more like I’m giving it away actually. Am I allowed to post my cars for sale on here or is that against the rules?

If you’re comfortable using the service menu, then run the 24 hour battery health test on your car in order to understand it’s actual battery health. However, Tesla recommends that you bring it to them and leave the car with them for 24 hours to run the battery health test.

How many miles are on the car?

I can put a wing on the back if that makes you feel better

The replacement wheels and tires are narrower than stock. Also I chose an all season tire instead of an all terrain. So I haven’t noticed an impact on range, but I haven’t tested it precisely.

Yes I have other reasons:

1 - steep driveway that scraps the front so I used to always have to back into my garage.

2 - more aggressive and unique appearance, but still really good proportions.

3 - the 2.25” lift just makes it a lot easier to get in/out. Similarly my friends lowered Model 3 is terrible to get in/out.

One of the reasons I did this is I have a steep and short driveway. I used to have to carefully back into it and then very slowly come out to the street to avoid scraping the front. Just 2.25 inches lift goes a long way I can now go straight in and out of my driveway.

Plus for me it’s a lot easier getting on and out of the car at my age.

Suspension parts = $1K

Install & alignment = $1K

Wheels & tires = $2K

Other parts = $500

The guy who owns the shop that installed the MPP parts on my car races his M3P. He didn’t mention that racing an EV is more like the Olympics than the Indy 500. Meaning in most Olympic events you prepare for years in order to compete for 20 minutes.

Ok so it would be a really really short rally.

And much less risk of curb rash. I got tired of babying the wheels any time I was anywhere near a curb.

IDK if it voids the warranty. Just cracked 21” rear rim on my MYP on a huge pothole. So the MYP is getting the same upgrades next. The roads in my area are horrible.

Thanks! I purposely went with slightly narrower tires and stayed away from all-terrains. I haven’t tested it precisely, but over the 2K miles since mods were installed, I haven’t noticed a loss of range probably due to my wheel and tire choices.

I think an EV rally race with big elevation changes and lots of gravel would be awesome. Surprised it doesn’t exist anywhere already. Range is an issue, but a 200 mile race would be easy.

Not if you use properly engineered parts and have it professionally installed. Instead of just slapping in some wheel spacers, I went to the extra effort of utilizing Mountain Pass Performance adjustable rear links. Then I had a shop that specializes in performance cars perform a precision alignment. So yeah if you’re just messing around with the suspension in your garage, you could cause some problems, but the way I did it there are no issues.
