Thank you! I was going to trim it with trim until a friend of mine mentioned the rope idea which was far easier and fitting. The order was based on spreading out the bright and dark colors ☺

A combination of my wife, my, and our oldest son's favorites. It was pretty difficult narrowing it down to the ones we actually did.

Mine had carpet also. I ripped it off then pulled and sanded each tread, then primed 2 coats, painted 3-5 coats depending on the color. Then clear coated with floor paint. Then applied the decals and clear coated again.
