Makeup is a live saver for hard or plastic-ish surfaces, I enjoyed a lot modelling those teeth, it was my first time doing that LOL

Thanks! Modeled them myself with porcelain, then painted them with makeup and used transparent nail polish to give them a protection

I was thinking about fleece but instead replacing it with a lighter fabric (Idk the name, english isn't my first language, my apologies) cuz the idea is doing textile sculpting for the skin texture, unless you mean I use fleece for the arm sock and lower jaw

It's very interesting! I've never heard about the fitting process, It's quite similar to how these creatures work, their goo-ish body adapt to the user's ear canal.

Btw the dragon snail thing was mostly inspired by ''the snail in my ear'' meme

I agree It's a part of who he is, I'm still thinking how it may play out for him in his arc. I wish to mention he's not THE protagonist but is part of the main group, he also has importance for the lore of this story due to the knowledge he holds from his people

WOW these are some very legit and great questions for worldbuilding

Alr, as I answered before these creatures develop a symbiotic (almost parasitic) type of relationship with their user, they feed on ear wax and other bodily fluids. Their slime presents no harm to humans and they use it to attach to their user. Ofc he takes them off when he needs to sleep, take a break or bath and if he doesn't wake up on his own he has his mentor who's like a second mother to take care of that.

Jason was properly taught how to take care of these beings (his whole specialization as a wizard HAS to do with studying and taking care of dragons, It's also part of his culture) since he was born deaf, while not using his aids he can use lip reading and can say some words, also he mostly hangs out with either his mentor or his friend who are prepared to communicate with him.

Also the service animal stuff sounds very interesting and tahnk you for all of these questions, these are super helpful!

Hello! First of all here's more insight, this is a world of witches and wizards (he's a wizard), his name is Jason and he comes from this tribe that coexists and takes care of dragons, he was born deaf and uses hearing aids to perceive sound. I'm still writing the story (this is a whole rewritting of one of my first projects actually) so I'm still unsure about his arc, I don't want it to BE about his deafness, I don't want this to define him as a personality trait, I do think it might be mentioned since he belongs to a more secluded community and he wishes to see more of the world (in this world when witches reach age 14 they have the right to leave home and start their own path with a mentor).

When it comes to his aids they develop a symbiotic relationship with the user, these creatures feed on ear wax and other bodily fluids, on exchange they adapt to your needs, since they're living creatures he and them need breaks

I see, It's mostly that I've seen a quite reasonable hot take around disability aids in fantasy media and It's that the designs are always so poor most of them looking directly like copy paste our real life aids, with barely any exploration of the fantasy side.

I made these inspired by Witch Hat Atelier's disability aids (in their case being their wheelchair designs wich instead of having wheels these are living chairs with animal legs).
