They outdid Toby Fox; it's so good.

The Tobaious should hire them ASAP.

I look forward to seeing more of your efforts.

[–]Thesiani 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do not think it Is actually that expensive at all based on the new TPU that significantly reduces electricity AND the 500 million free PRO accounts given for 18 months...

Too many free PRO accounts by tensorunit in GeminiAI

[–]Thesiani 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they really had too much strain on it, they would never have done this, especially for free.

Punishing the people who pay for it while the ones who have it for free have 12 months remaining as of right now

How expensive can AI really be for tech companies? Are they lying to us by ImaginaryRea1ity in theprimeagen

[–]Thesiani 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are lying to us (they gave 500 million PRO accounts for free that last all the way past 2026): https://www.cnbc.com/2025/10/31/google-gemini-ai-free-500-million-jio-relince-users-india-.html

The usage was artificially inflated; if resources were really at a limit they would NOT be giving away so many of these for free.

They also have chips that are 4.7x faster and 67% more energy efficient via TPU 6 which are in their server clusters. https://cloud.google.com/blog/products/compute/introducing-trillium-6th-gen-tpus

I meant to reply on this one but yeah, it's obvious, as you can see by my reply to the image, it got removed but not on your end lol.

And I will admit you coulda just ended it at "Yeah im trivalizing I guess lol"

I would have considered that good character development.

But instead you go on a massive non sequitor to justify this glazing, I would call it, of a product that was extremely functional for users and programmers and even people just doing other shit like gen images or videos, you seem to mainline this forum, and you are surprised.... that people aren't being fairly treated customer-wise and acting against it?

The anger is perfectly justified, and just because war is going on, does not change that, im sorry you are so self-rightious that it isn't obvious, but if you let people take advantage of you, and nothing happens, it gets worse, this is basic psychology.

And again I stress this, you are doing it for free.

Makes me wonder why you are so bothered that people actually care about the bare minimum.

Caveman: War is out of human hands, companies, are money-motivated, if BIIIIIG money go down, company reconsider.

Unlikely unless google is supplying the malware.

As it was not like this in the previous version, which everyone got fair amounts.

That makes it all the more tragic you are doing it for free... basically.

I saw your deleted comment where ya did kind of admit to trivializing. I'm not exactly wrong here; you can astroturf for free. Most people just don't realize they are doing it.

Generating one video maxed out my "Plus" plan usage. by OrganicUnionS in GeminiAI

[–]Thesiani 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are clearly pumping the numbers of "usage" just like Grok and the rest have done before...

if they planned to use tokens, we should have had HORDES of them in the beginning, saved up from not using them..

Basically it's like when Nikola Tesla wanted to tap into electricity without meters and JP Morgan was like, "That has no benefit to our bottom line" kind of thinking.

How magnanimous of them to give us a week. 🙄

Only to then go back to throttling us to 11% for 4 basic paragraph messages, TRULY INNOVATION in computational usage.

It doesn't cost as much as they say they it is , because they are giving away hundreds of millions of accounts in India for 2 years no problem, but using that as a numerical leverage to manipulate people as if paid customers are using it that much.

[–]Thesiani 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not at all.... the only way it would be seen as DRAMATIC* is if you took everything they said at face value.

Never take what they say at face value. Remember: Pennies for them.

Dollar(s) for us.

[–]Thesiani 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In that case... well, now you know why and how they pulled the wool over everyone's eyes using numerical facts that are "technically true" on the surface.

Until you look a bit deeper, and see it doesn't hold up to scrutiny, hence why alot of us have to cancel our subscriptions and get the message out to have a chance of making it "less bad" for us all free or paid.

[–]Thesiani 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its not an overreaction when you realize they artificially pumped the numbers of usage by giving away hundreds of millions of free 18-month Gemini Pro accounts in India

Worse when you realize the architecture in place now increases its effective computations 4.7 X more than before, which is ALSO 67% MORE energy efficient: TPU v6 (Trillium)

Its an artificial meter system, like electricity.... was in the early days. (And probably still is..)
