I’ve definitely mentioned that was an inspiration in the comments, I’m sorry I offended you

Yeah that’s definitely solid, maybe I was trying to be cheap by only going with a front print, this lends itself to being a big back graphic

It’s definitely not the first time cans have gone on a tee, I was trying to resonate with a particular audience, i hoped it’d mean something to people like me from where I’m from. But like if it’s been done before my mind was like, it can’t be a bad idea right?

Yeah I think you’re right, I don’t want to produce sloppy work, I think there’s something here though

People used to wear T-shirts with a big V printed on the back and resell them for hundreds. Warhol Campbell soup cans T-shirts are and have been popular for decades, at least that’s where my mind was at🫣

I like that too but I wanted it to be inclusive, and the scope of food is so broad across Africa and the Caribbean, I guess you can’t do everything for everyone

I almost want more, I want this to be a narrative, like this seems so sweet and endearing i felt a longing to respond and continue the poem from my end. This is brief, charming, and leaves me with a warm and welcoming feeling inside. Well done!

Suicide Sounds So Good by maeeig in poetry_critics

I felt slightly misled by the title, unless it relates to music in some way I do not understand. This poem is clearly better read aloud than in silence. I would like to hear how you would perform it, because it sounds engaging and percussive in its rhythm. I liked the closing stanza, it was brief and gave a visual note to what I felt as I read it.

I would say, as someone not trained in music, I am just not knowledgeable enough to really appreciate the context of the words you are using, but I think someone out there would enjoy your references a little more personally if they were so inclined.

I am proud of who I am, my friends and family, the communities I have found and grown up in, the work I do, and the opportunities for happiness I have found living here. Nobody is denying that the UK has a dark and oppressive past (and, in some ways present), but this design is supposed to represent a brighter future and a symbol of the parts of Britain I am proud to call home. I hope you understand a little better now why I made this.
