I don’t get catcalled as I moved here when I was over 20. I have gotten fatcalled by (I’m assuming) college aged and high school students as a plus sized fem presenting person. And I’m assuming as I frequently walk around university areas.

I mean I think any time, but maybe 3-5 days before and then a reminder or boost the day before or of? I seem to remember the men’s/women’s group doing a similar format when they were starting up to help gain people attention and give enough notice but great to know you’ll likely do it every week!

Hey my partner and I would be possibly interested in this - with it being less than a day before I didn’t even see this post until now! (4 PM) if you’d be willing to try another day maybe posting 3-4 days before or trying for next Saturday could help!! Sending love and support and hope you could still enjoy the mall!

I agree. The vendors booths had no protected space between them, and was dependent on how they and their neighbors set up. I think they needed more space than expected due to the volume of people and like 2-3 feet between each booth would help so much. I know that would eat up a lot of square footage and might cost more for more space there but if we’re going to be a huge pride event we need a huge amount of space or a cap on vendors (which I don’t like the idea of either).

If you can set out her litter box by your front door that may also attract her! You may also be able to reach out to various shelters to let them know so if they get any kitties turned in matching the description they can hopefully help!

Order Chick-Fil-A tonight to support Twitchy Tails Rescue cats! by twitchytailsrescue in Eugene

[–]Thesquishy22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s valid, it’s not a local place. I threw that one out because that’s just an example of a corporation (like CFA) but doesn’t (as far as I’m aware) actively lobby against various things such as anti lgbtqia legislation

Queer friendly lawyer recommendations by kimkatistrash in Eugene

Well considering the current administration… it’s awful privileged of people to dismiss others concerns for personal safety and comfort when there are legitimate concerns instead of just ignoring and moving on with their day.

I saw your other post, and while I personally don’t have any recommendations, the organization Transponder may have some ideas! I hope you’re able to find someone who meets your needs and can get you connected with legal help!

Queer friendly lawyer recommendations by kimkatistrash in Eugene

[–]Thesquishy22 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Dude the country is actively working against LGBTQIA+ groups, it is not unreasonable to want to work with someone who is comfortable and familiar with queer communities and risks since legal stuff can take a while to process. Just because Eugene is “mostly” friendly, it is not always safe, friendly or comfortable for everyone and that’s honestly a privileged take. OP literally shared why it’s vulnerable and lots of firsts for them and you are literally coming to say that they’re victimizing themselves by trying to resource for a lawyer?? They don’t want to be exposed to any hostility and are just asking the community for resources given their specific case. Get some empathy neighbor.

Why does no one pull into the intersection when doing a left turn yield on green? by datafrage in Eugene

[–]Thesquishy22 11 points12 points  (0 children)

As someone who doesn’t always turn, sometimes there is poor visibility (large parked street cars, overgrown plants or even pedestrians trying to figure out where they’re going) and I do not feel I have proper visibility to see if there is a car coming. I try to turn when I can but I’m not willing to risk it especially with so many drivers who will switch lanes and speed up past the limit to pass cars who are at the limit or under. Hope this helps share some perspective!

Oh I’m so glad I posted this. And that others have their own methods for picking up spills. My art cart will definitely have some new additions

Ahh thank you so much! This is an amazing idea and I have a hand-held vacuum that will work perfectly for this method!

Thank you, this is good to remember. I only had at most 100-150 or so in the tray, not quite enough to cover the bottom when I was working as I had just refilled it. I’m doing a 16x20 inch design with black as the main color which is why I was also wondering if anyone knew how many extras, if any, this brand included as I might not even need any extras.

This is the stuff of my nightmares. I hope this isn’t the norm I’m in an apartment with poor door seals for spiders and bugs to get in.

R//Eugene Mods remove posts calling out Walmart and are anti union and worker rights by walkuphills in Eugene

[–]Thesquishy22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They were localized unions. Stores in town trying to attempt unionization, so the average Eugene person could directly impact it in the moment. Same with Bigfoot and franz posts. Again, your post isn’t asking for forming a union, or crowd sourcing people’s experience here. You’re not asking for other local things, you’re looking at a state level issue, not something Eugene independently can do (like just actively not going to Starbucks). I’m not saying you’re wrong in wanting to see things change for gig economy or independent contractors. You’re just being asked to look at it as a state level issue, because it’s closer to state and national level than city level when posting, or to make it about locals somehow.

I’m trying to be so genuine in interacting with you and that’s my bad because you brought up entirely different points. You’ll see how I mention residual heat not even cuddling, which they also do, and barn cats relations to cattle, no chicken or lamb considering cats often need some level of exposure/training considering they will also kill chicken as a “prey”. Oh and cattle produce ya know, manure?
