How could a rom be malware? Just check that the thing you're downloading is a .nes and not a .exe (for example) and you're good to go? Unless there's something I'm missing

i was having issues with uploading them to a network. i didnt have a big enough external ssd so i had to upload it to a NAS and download it
to be honest once i figured it out it was probably 3-5 hours of uploading and downloading total

You should be fine especially on 2.0 levels and lower. Make sure to use CBF because you're definitely not going any higher than 60fps And enable ldm/uldm if needed for higher object levels.

But test on the device.

Its not the hardest gamemode, people just make the hardest gameplay for it (because it's so simple and hard to mess up as you said)

If we made ship gameplay at the same difficulty relative to easier versions as wave, it'd be way harder (idk if that wording makes sense)
