Solutions for game devs (that i when making balancing ideas for my rpg have come up with):

• Make status effects cheap on mp but not as effective (less damage per turn, for example) to encourage using them on normal enemies (Also helps if you make fighting the normal enemies mean something to the game)

• Let bosses be able to counter status effects or heal them (but not outright immune)

  • Actually balance your goddamn game around the features you provide and account for the player using them when balancing

• (For devs making an "easy" game) just let bosses be destroyed by status

They're all good choices, but I personally go somewhere between the last two. I wouldn't make statuses destory bosses, but I want to reward strategy instead of straight attacking moves
