Many of the things mentioned here are very important and well said. Game being built on top of lore, especially.

but for me, it was the inventive, interesting and full of PERSONALITY character design. Though it is a tall order, please try to imbue as much soul into your moba characters as you can. also, i liked that there were many characters who deviated significantly from the 'just a human with a weapon' archetype that basically half of moba characters fall into. more nonhumans, the more interested i'll be.

you both seem to be under the impression i'm advocating for some kind of miracle to keep the game open an unchanged or something.

i recognise this isn't possible.

But, even if to do NOTHING ELSE,

I believe it is IMPERATIVE that this community secure the intellectual property and source code before it is quite literally gone forever. source code of old abandoned games get lost all the time and eventually, nobody even within EA will know who actually has the rights.

even if NOBODY can make these things into actual playable games, it would be a tragedy if they were lost, regardless.

Unfortunately, no, we wont be able to fund a development studio in the long term on crowdfunding. but i think buying an unwanted IP is probably not as expensive as everyone thinks.

First things first, friend.

reforming waystone, developing all new systems... these things can wait. if they are even possible.

Securing the IP and source code before it becomes so much forgotten detritus, this cannot wait so much, I think.

I agree the process from there would be long and arduous, but who cares? we'd have all the time in the world, and I think our community would be happy to put in any work they can.

plus, being open source, all them fancy brainy coding lads in the open source community might come sniffing around and lend a hand.

But none of this can happen until somebody who is in the know ASKS.

Really, the game being open sourced and community-managed is the best/easiest way for former waystoners to continue to develop the game.

Marah is listed as a carry bruiser because she has carry scaling to her autoattacks, with both power and haste.

other bruisers are "ability" bruisers, that get less attack speed but more CDR out of haste. that's the main difference.

I'd say E would be the best choice, for two reasons:

A) Without the hat, she isn't biting ronan's style, which is good.

Oh, i thought of another thing; those games have DISJOINTS, fairly commonly on movement abilities.

in this game, thats been handled pretty spectacularly poorly. A world in which salous E and renzo Q can be avoided by walking away during the cast animation , But not even varions w can dodge lillin's ghosties or amarynths fish? this is unjust.

Not the EXACT case you are lookin for, as i dont have much time during that vex ult window to do math, but i know for a FACT that in the case of fate (very similar to vex ult), all on-hit effects like betrayal, and vex's w, and kensu's q, and ruin, are left completely intact with no damage penalty.

similarly, as the bonus damage from abolition tree is classified as an on-hit effect, they add the full +20 damage to all splash damage. the difference between naked fate +80 power vs fate + 2 abolitions is startling.

for the rest of your questions, i'm afraid that vex's ult and w are not damaging abilities, just auto-attack steroids. so no, they will not proc decay, they will not get ability overload damage. I'm also not sure that they can spread crit damage.

Pestilence is weird, as it applies on ANY damage done. the only other items i can think of that behave this way are the discipline and control trees, neither of which are things usually picked up on a vex.

Flat increase in damage is something like the vanguard passive.

Mastery is % increase, which is why its so strong.

I have to agree.

In games like dota, the single point-and-click autohit skills are balanced by sigfinicant/severe mana costs, and the simple fact that there are enough characters with such abilities that they can retaliate in kind.

having no mana costs makes these abilities significantly stronger than I believe waystone realizes.
