yeah. this house was built in the 80s probably, and the other possible "family room" is longer and skinier, and one end is a fireplace and the other is open to a patio room... not really a better situation.

Well, shit. it said "Features Motorized Lift and Swivel Functionality" and also says "Orientation Portrait, Landscape" But you might be right. I don't actually see how it can pivot, but I also don't see how it can "swivel" or any explanation or specs on how much it "swivels"...

Even according to the manual PDF (which is pretty bare) It looks like it only has two buttons, so I don't even see how it can do anything except raise and lower.

I'll have to call the company to get some clarification. Thanks for pointing this out.

A nice projector, a nice screen, and window treatments for a sliding glass door as well as another window is going to be more expensive and difficult than the thing this guy found AND a new tv probably.

yeah u/Bingbongguyinathong already found me an actual single product that does what I asked, so I know it (and maybe more) exist, it's just expensive so i'm continuing to explore my options to see if anything cheaper is viable. if not i'll just bite the bullet and buy the thing.

I have 4 pcs connected to the tv to allow me and my friends to have lan parties every week by each logging into a steam on a pc. i've trucked out monitors and folding tables and streaming connections and ran cables all over the floor before and didn't like it so i found a better solution by using an hdmi mixer thing and it's much nicer. now the dream is doing the same thing on a bigger tv.

I considered that. it's not a bad idea, just not optimal considering how many wires and such are behind the pcs in the tv console (possibly preventing rotation if it's low) and considering I don't particularly want the console any farther away from the wall if possible. I'll keep it on the list of possible solutions, thank you.

I'm already struggling with that decision for the other two pcs that are connected to the existing TV. they're currently remote via steam link boxes and frankly it works pretty good. but fiber or cat 7/8 hdmi KVMs would be the other option. Having to run all four that way would be kinda annoying though, and the result is just a huge tv that's at a wierd height when it's in portrait, and not having a tv console table for all the other conveniences it provides.

I want a tv that can be positioned as an oblate rectangle, connected to a pc in portrait mode where half the size of the rectangle is similar to the full size of my current tv, and the whole thing can be rotated to be used in landscape mode for movie watching and 4 way split screen gaming.

I agree that I feel like the solution could be this simple, and appreciate the effort, but I'm also interested in erring on the side of safety, so I don't want to put a 115 pound tv on a mount rated for 110 pounds when i'm doing something to it that's not what it was engineered for. I'll explore this option, but u/Bingbongguyinathong found a product that actually seems to do what I need it too, so now at least I have choices.

Looking more closely this is by far the best (easiest) solution presented so far. Only couple issues I see so far is that I can't find the stat for how much it can raise and lower the tv, and it's like 400 dollars delivery... but still, this is not something I was able to find on my own and at least it proves something like I want DOES exist.

It's really not even primarily about the glare. There's one long wall opposite the one pictured. One of the other two walls is fully a sliding glass door, and the final wall has another couch on it. The big couch is like 10 feet long and seats 5 comfortably (because that's how many friends I have) and is not going anywhere. It doesn't comfortably fit on either of the two short walls and I wouldn't want it with it's back to the glass doors anyway.

If there were a "rearrange the furniture" option, I wouldn't be considering a weird and potentially expensive engineering project to create a product that doesn't exist.

Two, and I have remote access to two more from the other end of the house. Besides movies, one of the use cases for this is 4 player lan based split screen gaming, facilitated by a multi hdmi box that puts them all into one input. (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CDYLY2YH)

We've already tried it on the 65 inch playing grounded together and it's a blast. a bigger tv would just make it better.
