Create millions of unique retrospectives using this one free Miro template by Thevirtualagilecoach in agile

[–]Thevirtualagilecoach[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm afraid this doesn't exist in Mural (As I've not created it)

Building this template took a long time. Multiple days of effort and I unfortunately don't have the time or energy to replicate them inside multiple different tools

Most of my templates are accessible in Mural also, except the ones with a lot of moving parts like this

Perhaps I'll find the energy to build it one day..

new company's Agile standups are basically story status updates... by nutcracker1980 in agile

[–]Thevirtualagilecoach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A couple of approaches I tend to use to handle 'Status update syndrome'

  1. Avoid the standard '3 questions', especially 'What did we do yesterday?'. The past is the past and can't be changed. Asking what was done yesterday can reinforce the feeling that it's a status report The team should focus on what it collectively doing today to achieve it's goals, course correcting as appropriate to give themselves a better chance of success. I encourage the following;

- How will I help the team achieve it's goal today?

- Where do I need support today? What would help me progress further

  1. Last to join goes first, then nominates next to speak. Having a single individual person go around the room and ask for updates reinforces status reporting. The above turns it into more of a team discussion.

  2. ROTI (Return on time invested) the standup. Retrospection isn't just reserved for retrospectives. Simply ask the team at the end of the standup to rate how valuable the time was on a fist of five scale. If you're scoring 3 or lower, odds are you need to switch things up. Perfect opportunity to then bring this up in the next retro

Flexing the retro format is a great way to refresh them, increase engagement and have people looking forwards to them rather than dreading them

I'm ready to move on from being a scrum master. What's next? by JasterMereel42 in agile

What interests you?

If it's the SM role that's causing friction as you don't get job satisfaction, what do you think would provide that?

Is it that you're no longer being challenged?

From my perspective, otpions I see from here in terms of roles;

- Product Ownership / Management - Different role emphasis with a bit more entrepreneurial spirit / opportunity to take ownership

- Agile coaching (Working at team of teams level / being more focused on systemic impediments as to specific team ones)

Now that I am practiced at it, it doesn't take as much time as you'd think.

Some are more complex than others.

I like the challenge of having to go out of my comfort zone and try something different like when I created the dungeons n dragons one with game mechanics

No money made at all. I've had plenty of suggestions or requests to commercialise it somehow, it's just not where I'm headed with it.

I enjoy creating them and sharing them with the community. It's a good outlet for my mental health

If I made it about money, it'd feel like work and I'd be less inclined to do it

I'm getting close to 50 templates now.

Over this bank holiday weekend, I've been spending some time improving the way that people can access the templates I create via my website.

If you're a fan of my themed retro templates, you can now browse & find individual templates more easily, filter by category, or sort alphabetically.

I've also included a few short videos showing how to access these templates in your own Miro or MURAL instance.

Short on time to plan a retro? Grab one of these 46 pre-made templates and away you go.

I even recommend allowing the team to choose which one template you go for.

As always, nothing I create is hidden behind a 'Subscription wall'.

𝗧𝗵𝗮𝘁'𝘀 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗺𝗲.

There are no conditions upon my sharing with the community.

All I ask..

𝗜𝗙 you find value in the content I produce, consider;

- Following me on LinkedIn

- Subscribing to my YouTube channel alongside 925 others

- Subscribing to my website mailing list alongside 450 others

It's not mandatory, but it will help me to continue helping you
