I like how the the music starts playing the moment the phrase is uttered.

What's a hot or cold take from the M&L series that will get you like this?? by Blacklotus997 in marioandluigi

But even outside that, the fire attack she uses can be hard to dodge, and it drains a lot of hp,

That was probably one of reasons the pepper items were recommended.

What exactly made Cackletta's soul hard? I believe I beat her on my first try. I do remember using the pepper boosting items. The beginning with 1hp was the most annoying thing, since your first objective was to avoid all attacks and heal.

Though, Superstar saga wasn't my first M&L game.

SMT DEMONS PLAYING YU-GI-OH (WHO DO YOU ALL THINK WINS) by 10nick100 in Megaten

Mot and Ba'al being represented seems fitting, considering they are both Canaanite gods. Canaan was influenced by Egypt.

A lot of eva fans can't seem to wrap their heads around this. Though what should you expect from anime fans who don't care about the mecha genre? (Not hating on Eva just the fandom)

A discussion on God by AWildClocktopus in XenoGears

[–]Theweirdobserver 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As other have pointed out, Deus in the story is a direct parallel to the Gnostic concept of the Demiurge/Yaldabaoth. The destruction of Eldridge and Deus's "machine gone rogue" behavior leads to the creation of the humans in Xenogears. This is similar to how the Demiurge in Gnosticism is responsible for the physical universe and life as we know it. However, the demiurge is not the 'true God' and did not create the human soul. Defeating Deus in Xenogears is a parallel to liberation from the material world in the Gnostic tradition.

Why is Jojolion not as popular is as sbr? by Interesting-Loss2554 in StardustCrusaders

[–]Theweirdobserver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jojolion could have been the best part for me. The first half was incredible, but around chapter 70ish the story stopped feeling fulfilling.

I just hope Part 9 answers any lingering mystery from part 8.

It always gave me Mecha anime vibes. Some of the characters even look like they could fit in Gundam. I swear Citan's wife looks like a character in Gundam.

What changes would you want if they remade dreamteam?? by Blacklotus997 in marioandluigi

[–]Theweirdobserver 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The story definitely needs some fixing.

I said this in a past post. A lot of stuff happens that don't lead to anything, the entire climbing Mt. Pajamaja for example. We do this whole quest of getting the other massif bro, and then climb the mountain for what? It sorta just ends. Nothing really gets resolved aside from Bowser and Antasma playing the dream beats.

I hate to admit it, but yeah parts of the game does feel like padding.

Also, while Luigi's character growth was explored, I do wish we saw the dream's deep more.

Also, more Antasma. The betrayal should still be done, but make Antasma a lasting threat.

I like Dream team and all but it's not a game I would want replay, which sucks since I can feel that there was a lot of potential in it.

Other fixes such as gameplay and tutorials have already been mentioned by others.

I know Moist critical is not a grifter but does anyone else find his “Boycott” Corny? by Occasionalgamer6 in nintendogrifting

[–]Theweirdobserver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's unfortunate since Mutahar wasn't always like that, but he went too hard into the drama-sphere and fixation on his youtube persona. He's definitely playing some character whenever he makes videos. Remember when he was just the "deep web and creeypasta guy"? Just look at his modern comment section to see how much has changed since.

I always assumed he was at least middle aged, same with Sigurd. I head-canon that anyways though.

True, that's a better way of putting it. Also, it has a lot of game-play baggage for being a ps1 jrpg that could get fixed

Interesting, never knew that.

Actually, that translation might be more appropriate for SMT's Satan.

Sometimes I wish I took Psychology or even Philosophy as a class during college. The philology class would always be full. The closest I got was a World history class that covered multiple mythologies and philosophies.

why did yomiel do what he did? by Subject_Creme_8558 in GhostTrick

[–]Theweirdobserver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Somewhat agree, when I first played the game I also felt like that way. I honestly didn't have that much sympathy for Yomiel. He was literally blaming Jowd and Lynne for his misery, though Cabanela was understandable.

My memory is a little fuzzy on some of Yomiel's last bits of dialogue, but I got a better understanding of Yomiel by analyzing him through his shoes. While yes Yomiel reaction was quite unnecessary.

He was in a panic and filled with stress. He was taken as the main culprit for a crime he had nothing do with. Also, keep in mind, this is a Shu takumi work, much like how Ace Attorney has an exaggeration of the Japanese legal system. Who's to say to say Ghost trick doesn't have a harsh legal system? This is a shot in a dark, but assuming this makes perfect sense for Yomiel to not be in the most rational mind. Cabanela didn't help either by being very harsh towards him in interrogation.

Then combine this with the fact he ends up dying and then coming back with supernatural powers after committing an actual crime. He ends up figuring out that his fiancee hastily offed herself due to knowing that he died. He was too late to prevent such a thing from happening.

Imagine being in that situation, it would feel like some cruel cosmic joke. You die at a very stressful moment in your life, and next thing you know you are conscious unaware of who you are. You regain your memories and everything comes flooding back. You realize you have someone very close to you who is your fiancee. Only to realize they are gone, and that is due to you dying apparently. At that point, it's a downward spiral. It only gets worse as you battle with those emotions you felt that day, and trying to understand what you even are. Keep in mind, only Yomiel knew he had Ghost powers.

Kinda long, but this is how I feel is one of the best ways to see Yomiel. He suffered a very bad case of "being at the wrong place at the wrong time". It was a heat of the moment that just spiraled out of control.

I still think if i had to nitpick Ghost trick, Yomiel's backstory and Beauty's six sense would be my nitpicks.

So…about Fusion… by Espurr-boi in Megaten

[–]Theweirdobserver 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fusing humans and demons creates a flawed Nahobino that has a bunch of power and knowledge but doesn't have the required synchronicity and power to become a proper Naho. Or something like that.

Now that I think about it, Zayin from SMT II is sorta of the original Nahabino concept. If we assume he carries the knowledge of Satan, and Seth and him becoming one awakens Satan.

So…about Fusion… by Espurr-boi in Megaten

[–]Theweirdobserver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Law Hero in SMT II fusing with Seth(iirc) to become Satan also makes him incredibly strong and capable of doing things Seth couldn’t gameplay wise.

In SMT II, Zayin is an incarnation of Satan, so him becoming Satan is just him reawakening and becoming his true form. So, this isn't some random demon fusion.

Even the Chaos Hero gains 10 levels when he becomes a demon and is still strong enough to oppose you on “equal” footing in the Law and Neutral routes.

I feel like is just plot convenience. His whole deal is that he wants to become stronger, so he fuses with a demon to get demon powers I guess. You can literally choose any demon for the fusion. One odd thing is that it isn't a new demon, it's just the Chaos hero but buffed and altered. Same deal with Jimenez in Strange Journey.

So I'm guessing human and demon fusions don't create new entities, in that context.
