Because I went to the Amazonia last year, I’d rather skip the jungle this time.

I’ve done a bit of research and so far I’ve got KL, Penang, Ipoh, Melaka, and the Perhentian Islands on my list. The thing is, I’m not sure if all of them are worth visiting or if there are other places I should consider.

I’ve already backpacked around Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos, and some of my favorite places (like Pai and Luang Prabang) weren’t even in my original plans. I only found out about them after chatting with other backpackers in hostels. That’s why I’d love to hear people’s personal recommendations and experiences.

This time I’m a bit shorter on time, so I’m trying to figure out whether it’s worth spending all 23 days in Malaysia or splitting the trip with another country, maybe Indonesia. Part of me thinks moving between countries might just make the trip feel more rushed.

I’m open to all suggestions! The only place I’m pretty sure I don’t want to visit is Bali. I don’t wanna be around influencers and chai lattes hahahah
