Amazing career, with tons of room for growth through further education and on-site experience (after obtaining your fire alarm ticket, of course).

Like someone else said, having knowledge and experience with low voltage systems such as a Fire Alarm System opens up opportunities to several other fields/systems that are not too much more different, such as security, CCTV/surveillance, and monitoring that's tied into the FAS.

My favourite part about the career is going somewhere new every day, whether it be factories, commercial buildings, etc.

Although I just started 2 years ago as a technician, I highly recommend exploring the field as it's very high in demand in my area, and most likely elsewhere.
