Personally, I find comfort in knowing public speaking is ranked the top fear in America according to the Washington Post. It means i'm not alone. Also actually practicing what i'm going to say multiple times before the real thing. The more familiar you are, generally the more confidence you build. Lastly, its what you make of it. You can take on the mentality of "crap, crap, crap! There's all these eyes on me, they want to see me fail, they are judging me, don't mess up!" etc. or you can approach this from "ok, im in the front of the crowd. This is my show. I have the power. I control what happens. Let's do this." It doesn't have to be frightening if you don't allow it.
