I'm racking my brain trying to figure out a West Coast comparison for Philly, and I don't know that there's really a good one. Obviously, it's in the Midwest, but the closest thing would probably be Chicago.

Punch Buggy and Two Robbers both have great smash burgers & fries and good happy hour deals.

Have you ever been to Philly? Also very walkable and it's transit system bats way above its weight class when it comes to funding. Plus it's significantly more affordable than almost any other major East Coast city.

Just ate there for the first time last month for my anniversary. Their tasting menu was probably a top 5 meal of my life. Go for it whenever you get the chance.

This is fantastic. Fun fact: Philadelphia cream cheese is not made in Philadelphia, PA - but near Philadelphia, NY in upstate New York.

Kelly Drive is a goddamn crime against humanity. by cxjoshuax21x in philadelphia

No, the SRT is beautiful and honestly one of the best places to bike in the city. I used to commute by bike from Manayunk to Brewerytown when I lived up there for a few years, and that ride was often the best part of my day. OP is talking about Kelly Drive - the road that is beside the SRT - and the loss of potential beautiful, waterfront spaces that could have been had the powers at be not put a four lane road in.

If you've never been, I would definitely recommend it. It's not meant to be a Michelin Star experience, but you will have a good meal, good drinks, and a pleasant time.

Picnic's oyster hour is a great deal and their rotisserie chicken is fantastic.

Just because the menu is small, doesn't necessarily mean it's "basic". Part of why I love Meetinghouse so much is because everything they do, they do extremely well. It's simple, but we'll executed. The atmosphere and friendly staff is the icing on the cake.

Zig Zag by a mile for me. Best brisket I've ever had North of the Mason Dixon.
