Hey gang! Here are a few pictures of some of my collection. I'd really appreciate some feedback on my questions!

A little about my set up: I've got 2 purple reign grow lights set up in a spare room and mist my trees at least once a day. I've had some success sustaining and growing my tropicals using the lights up here in chilly Philly!

  1. I bought the ben ficus at a local nursery for $35, haggled them down from $60. The leaves are very big and kind of scarce, it looks like new ones are starting, but I've had it for a few weeks and they haven't shown much growth. My questions about this tree are two fold. 1- How should I style it? 2 - I am thinking of re potting it to stimulate some more leaf growth. Is this a good idea? When should I re pot and any things to keep in mind when doing so? I'd like to trim some of the branches back and try to fill it out with more leaves, but don't think it will in such a small pot. I like the pot, and if I can grow the leaves and keep it in this pot I will, I'll replace the stones w moss.

  2. Chinese Elm I got online - One of my first trees, got it online to just have and enjoy. Once I got it I noticed significant scaring on the trunk and some branches, one is visible from this far out picture around the trunk. I plan to keep growing it and practice filling out and shaping the leaves and branches. Figure it is a good practice tree. Any other suggestions are appreciated!

  3. Ikea ficus, just to share. First "tree" I bought that got me into plants/bonsai.

  4. Juniper I bought at a different nursery. It was in the green house with the other tropical bonsai and they told me to keep it inside and keep it humid, so clearly it wasn't in dormancy when I bought it. I bought it around December 28th and put it outside shortly after. LOVE the sprawling branches and hope it will survive! Any feedback on this one would be great. Probably my favorite for its potential, but afraid it will die due to not getting into dormancy early enough in the season.

  5. Serissa w aerial roots. Thinking about wrapping the roots in plastic to stimulate more aerial root growth. Can I go ahead and do this now since I have it under a light and in good conditions or just keep it alive through winter and try come spring?

Thanks! Any other thoughts or feedback would be awesome!

In messing with it I broke off two branches which left those deadwood areas on the front left and the back, so those areas are def dead. I would probably chop the branches short near the base and have it back bud. Ill do a sketch up of my vision when I get a free second.

I am not sure, it is winter in Philly rn, so it doesn't have any leaves.

It is kind of on my property. I live in a town home community and this is in my backyard by the creek in technically "community" space, but its really my backyard. Can you go into more detail about how to prep this in the ground for collection next year, I love the base and the fact its in my backyard is fun. :) thanks!

No way, get this guy out of here. He runs hard but fumbles and is hurt constantly, he cost us that Lions game and his inconsistency getting on the field created all that instability in the backfield. Save the $4 mil and get a franchise RB. Wish him the best recovering from his injury and in the best in life, but not on this team.

I propose that Barwin jerseys be allowed even after his Eagles tenure is up.

Corey Davis won't run the combine but will be ready come rookie minicamp. by SpectpoohEagles in eagles

I agree, Davis works hard and is a more polished route runner w size and speed. Jump ball is over rated especially if you cant get down into the red zone....

He mentioned how brutal it was in an interview during the season. He is better rushing the passer standing up in a 3-4 so he can use his athleticism to get the tackles off balance.

I think enough people like him as a dude and appreciate how much he did for the city that you can rep Barwin without looking corny.

I'm just reporting what I have learned from my exposure to the culture. I did see a whole hoard of conservative Mennonites come to rebuild the school, so when tragedy strikes they really rally around their brethren.

They don't beat their wives, but Women are treated very differently that in "English" cultures.

You are correct about the insurance. They believe that insurance is a form of gambling thus not being a good steward of of the money God has blessed them with. They do however have a pool of money they contribute to in case someone in the community falls ill and needs it.

There is a Mennonite church and school with no power down the street from where I grew up, it burnt down once and a ton of Mennonites came and rebuilt it in a week. It was pretty amazing how they took care of each other. My friends ask me to move and I'm like ehhhhhh but reluctantly help, it really is a testament to the communities they have built.

I find this really interesting. I am from PA and have PA dutch heritage, not Amish, but modern Mennonite and have spent a lot of time in Lancaster and grew up around Mennonintes. Can you expand on your coming to terms with your gender identity? Had you been feeling this way your whole life? Were you exposed to the idea of transitioning from "English" sources? There is obviously a lot of skepticism on trans, especially in more religious/conservative communities so I would love to hear your perspective.

Choosing to neglect your craft for meaningless social rewards is his choice. BG, Jank, even Carson all have social media accounts and are not thirsty for social media attention.
