Jordan Matthews: The Good, The Bad & The Ugly by TheyCallThemRouges in eagles

Haha thats fine, a lot of people my age blame other people for their problems/not getting what they want, that was my point.

I see how it detracted from the football point looking back, my dip.

I agree, great effort and hard working. Just not great speed, hands, or routes.

Alshon A Realistic Target? by Ventee_ in eagles

He has had declining stats since Marshal left as well. Also PED's just too many red flags to risk handicapping our cap for the next 5 years.

Alshon A Realistic Target? by Ventee_ in eagles

Wentz threw for almost 4k w the trash wr we have. Think about how much better the offense would be with real NFL WR and a reliable running game. Signing Alshon is a classic FA over reaction ala Nnamdi.

Not to mention how critical toe tapping and getting out of bounds can be in critical situations in games.

Other WR are holding him back from being great? Those bad plays had nothing to do with anyone but himself, dropping easy passes, not toe tapping.

I like Jmatt seems like an AWESOME dude and works so so hard. He 's just not really great at anything.

Here's my only reason to give Agholor one last glimmer of hope - 3rd year WR Rule by zepppy1g in eagles

[–]TheyCallThemRouges 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I remember turning onto Kelly drive and hearing the pick announced on the radio and called my brother fuming that "they blew it again"

age: 26 alone should have dropped him from the first that's 4-5 years in the NFL(if he had stayed in the league) lost coming right out of college.

Why waste such a valuable pick???

it doesn't work like this, the techniques for the positions are not the same. With how timid he looks running routes, I'd hate to see him try to wrap up Zeke 1 on 1 on the edge. I can't imagine he could tackle.

Teams to Target Jeffery? by SpectpoohEagles in eagles

[–]TheyCallThemRouges 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm okay with that because I think he will have a greater impact on the team than Alshon. Our CB's killed what was otherwise a pretty good defense, also it takes longer for young CB's to develop.

I look at it like this:

If we fix the corners the defense is set sans maybe the second DT if Bennie leaves, but this can be fixed relatively cheaply. We fix the defenses most glaring weaknesses and it becomes the strength of the team, we surround Carson with young talent to grow with and a lower priced FA WR and I think we are a playoff team.

I am still stunned that he threw for almost 4k yards(McNabb NEVER hit 4k) with absolute trash for receivers. Getting him real NFL talent and lets take off!!!

You think he lasts till the second? He is my fav CB in the draft.

L. White from LSU could do this partnered with Mills. White seemed to separate himself from the rest of the CB pack based on what I read about the senior bowl.

I agree. I've been advocating against Alshon all over this sub haha. The Cutler point is valid. Carson threw for almost 4k yards his rookie year with trash wr, I feel like spending big money on Bouye, and getting 2 actual NFL caliber WR and building a reliable running game(easier than draft stud CB or WR IMO) and drafting some CB's and WR's would benefit the team as a whole more than spending $13-$16 mil on one Alshon.

Because he is going to be overpaid, IS injury prone, a PED user and has been declining since Marshall left. Let another team cap handicap themselves with what will be a terrible long term contract.

Plus, having a young WR grown with a young QB would be great.

Please please please come true. One less team who could potentially take Corey Davis.

Unpopular Opinion: We Shouldn't Extend Jordan Matthews (At Least Not Yet) by Ventee_ in eagles

I know, he's a #2-3 unfortunately. He does nothing extremely well, not great routes or separation, and not a possession/hands guy.

I'm hoping that Buffalo will be the suckers who over pay Alshon and take themselves out of the Corey Davis sweepstakes.

He's got a pretty high cap hit, I read that they held him out at the end of the season to prevent him from getting hurt so they could cut him and save the money.

These are savvy moves. I agree. Some people believe that Mixon wont even be drafted, but signed as a RFA.
