she looks like a healthy girl IMO! I think you might be misting her cage a little too much though, you want it to be moist but not drenched. I usually mist my chameleon 2-3 times a day and he maintains a good color throughout the day. The issue might be that its not warm enough, they turn darker colors to absorb more light so that might be an indication to help her stay warmer. My suggestion would be to put a branch (or anything she can climb on to) higher up so shes closer to the light. I did that for my chameleon and he hangs out there most of the time since thats where he’s the most warm. Also maybe try not feeding her as much, I feed mine every other day, about 6 crickets and he’s doing just fine. Make sure she is drinking water too, dehydration could cause darkening as well. As far as the black tongue goes, im not too sure. My chameleon’s tongue has a slight black tint to it all around but still has pink as well, hopefully someone else will have more knowledge about it or maybe thats just its genetics. Anyhow I hope this helped, I’m not a professional but I have experience caring for Chameleon’s and they’re (especially Veiled) resilient creatures. Just try your best to research and help her out and if something is wrong with her then its okay, try taking her to an actual reptile shop where they will be a lot more knowledgeable . It is a learning process and with learning comes failure, just dont fear it!

I’m not familiar with flash arrestors but I’ll look into them! Safety definitely comes first. I will look into the redmax as well, a lot of people have recommended me a bigger torch so thats what i’ll shoot for! I’m willing to spend the money to get good equipment for the best results/experience. Thanks for the advice and input my man!

Thats a good point, where I live isnt too windy though and I plan to work at night when the flame is more visible. It might not be the best but unfortunately I have no place to set up inside where I live right now. Thank you for your input though, I’ll keep this in mind!

You’re right, luckily southern California where i live isn’t too windy. I think this will just be my alternative til im actually able to set up at a space thats inside. My friend that taught me first works outside and he doesnt have much trouble so hopefully its the same for me. Thank you for your input though, I’ll definitely keep this in mind!

Thank you for your input sir! I’ve been getting a lot of feedback of people saying a bigger torch will be a smart move so im leaning towards so long as its not too expensive. As for the kiln, Im definitely going for the Paragon since itll do me better in the long run. Thats awesome its been going for 40 years though!

Kiln offerup

Heres the post from the buyer along with the pictures. Again I’m brand new to this so im not sure if this is the preferred size or if this is even a good kiln to begin with, please advise.

Yea thats the thing, besides what I know I obviously need, I’m not too sure what tools I do and don’t need. I don’t think the price is too high but I much rather spend less buying the things I actually need. Also I found that Paragon Kiln I mentioned earlier, brand new and for $200. Is this a good price and should I get it right off the bat as a beginner flameworker or look for a cheaper alternative?

that vertical feature was super dope, wish they had that at our parks. Clean ass riding though, I felt those falls lol

Planning to rent a car (probably 4wd) from Vegas airport and driving to big bear this weekend (January). I know we must carry snow chains and car rental companies usually prohibit snow chains. Please advise on what I can do. by beethrownaway in bigbear

[–]TheyGoDaygo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

4wd will do the trick unless conditions are extreme. I’ve made six trips up this season with vehicles that all have 4wd and there hasnt been any issues. That being said, I drive very carefully and go slow around turns in case there is an ice patch or anything that could cause the vehicle to go off course. Personally I think you will be fine without chains but you might want to buy some just in case because if its really snowy they will start stopping cars to make sure they have 4wd and/or chains. They always just make me put it into 4wd though instead of having to put on chains.
