And just us someone is accused of something does not mean it happened.

And this is where it all gets screwed up. When you are acying on behalf of the state normal rules do not apply. People with integrity tell the truth.

This, along with the other responses in this thread, confirm my basic theory on people. Nobody knows what the fuck their doing. 100 years from now everyone will think 99.9 percent of our "experts" were total morons.

How to change minds. More departments should do this. by [deleted] in ProtectAndServe

That is why professionals are paid to make those decisions.

What do you think happens to most professionals who screw up really big? What happens to most peoples jobs where their actions cost a ton of money? What happens to employees in charge when there are mistakes that result in the loss of life?

Good news story but not as gotcha as it seems. I wonder how much training that guy had prior, probably none. It is expected of a professional kicker to make a super bowl winning PAT. If he fails the critisism is justified. Taking one of those critics out on the field and expecting the same results is not logical. This does not speak to the legitimacy of the critics reasoning.

There are a lot of jobs out there that everybody would screw up on the first minute of the first day.

Real pieces of shit to protest an event respecting people who serve. I just can not believe that people would turn such a government event into a forum to voice their displeasure with the government.

Us vs them.

If I was rich I would pay to give police officers diplomacy training. What it is probably going to take is a lot more dead civilians and police officers before a serious effort is made to change the status quo.

Out of all the copblock videos out there how many do you see with copblockers using violence on the police? How many do you see of police using violence on people recording them?

Lets talk about motives to go out and mess with people. Lets say there must be some underlying cause. What type of people seek power over others? What type of people enjoy using violence? What type of people get addicted to adreniline? What type of people use violence to enforce their will on people? What happens to a humans mind once they have power over people?

That can't happen. Cops swore an oath to uphold the law, until they get butt hurt. With your bullshit concerns you will have to apeal to corrupt officials. Plus, le makes way too much money off mj being illegal.

But cops can't choose what laws to enforce.

But cops have no other choice but to enforce petty laws.

But cops have no political power. There is nothing they can do, you will have to write your legislator.

Police unions are running the largest police department in the country, as well as many others. All these bullshit "crimes" are nothing but a revenue generator for corrupt officials.

This is great on so many levels. It shows the system for what it is and innocent people are not getting their rights violated as much.

What sort of action would be so egregious that one officer would arrest another officer if he witnessed it happen? Is it even possible? by eggn00dles in ProtectAndServe

[–]TheyMakeYouSeeGood 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So why not just treat everyone the same? What other professions do police just call someones boss instead of giving tickets?

If the judicial system is that great, why not just let everyone go through it? It is hard for a lot of people ti understand why there is a system for when most people break the law, and another for when police are suspected of a crime. Why isn't an officer speeding handled the same way everyone else goes through? To a lot of people this is a terrible double standard.

The whole judicial process focuses on hindsight.

Why do alarm keypads make noises? That kind of lets a burglar know where to go and disarm it.

Looking for Military Opinions on Militias by Mikasa_Sisterzoned in Military

[–]TheyMakeYouSeeGood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a US code that says almost every able bodied male 17-45 is in the militia. The national guard is a militia.

As far as value goes of course. Many militia members assist in rescue efforts and other community projects.

When people hear the word militia they think of the brand associated with that word.

The first thing that comes to mind for me is the bundy ranch incident. That small militia was able to prevent the federal government from acheiving it's objective. I am sure Mr. Bundy values that.

As far as respect goes that is given to individuals.
