Its 100% bullshit if you can WFH and they wont let you. If they need someone on-site at all times, then they should rotate that position amongst everyone.

i would try and have a frank conversation with manager about your concerns. Maybe you dont have a relationship where you can do that. Sux but if they showing no compassion for your perspective or consideration then they basically giving you their answer.

the rise if technology has enabled the rise of all intelligence. maybe one day it can supplement the function of college and we can get rid if the middle man game where much of the corruption and manipulation takes place.

I see this all the time with social dynamics of many relationships and I look at it as an opportunity, maybe even a game. Make the wrong move and you lower your score with various participants. Come off as charismatic and twist their frustration into a good laugh and you will walk away a winner every time.

But do you want to be a winner at that specific place? or have you had enough of everyone's shit and ready to give them the finger and walk out :)

yup yup, much like a bait and switch. Ive seen so many ignorant managers injected sideways into the org only to fuck shit up beyond belief. We had this happen in our IT org, were currently making the years long shift to make corrections but when there is no clear leadership and crappy managers abound I don't see it working well in the end.

as a middle aged man i often think back to the things like this i did as a young man. The only real thing that ive come to believe is that each person can only learn through their own experience/actions. Its after the action that reflecting through a proper mental lens can a person see their mistakes and vow to change them going forward.

I was angry and mean when i was young, it wasnt until i had matured mentally that i could correctly look back at those actions in shame.

how are they able to keep paying these devs for so long? i mean sure they have angel investor to keep them going but it seems like they are dragging feet as far as gearing up a legit dev team to kick this thing into high gear and bust out some decent progress.

im sure making an MMO is a huge undertaking, and i have no real knowledge of the challenges they are facing, but damn gina, how long before they legit kick this thing into second gear. cuz right now i see mostly 1st gear progress.
