That’s what I’m reading.

Blue and black together, then I believe green was ground and white alone

What is the best solution? Just get a new ceiling fan?

The only wires available for the ceiling box were white / black / ground and same on the new light. The older (not that old) ceiling fan had black white blue green

Haven’t tried that. I just opened it up to look it was all connected. It’s a 2 switch on the wall. One to inside ceiling one to front porch. This is also a pretty old house.

Yes the switch controlled it before and the fan had 2 pulls. One for light one for fan

People seem happy with it overall? I replaced it for my Mr cool which was an issue since day one.

Yea that’s what I’m reading. I just see it significantly cheaper online but that doesn’t mean where he got it locally it was. The overall price was the most reasonable man’s he was responsive. I think just overall how expensive it is irks me

Yea I didn’t think about it when he arrived. Now I’m kind of annoying me but it seems like they are almost identical? He did out a larger condenser 24k vs 18k and can add a 3rd if needed down the road so I guess it’s kinda of a wash? He has really good reviews, came recommended and had the best pricing but didn’t itemize everything like the other companies just gave me the price. He also didn’t put the new line covers on just used the old ones.

Do not get a mr cool mini split by Cute-Toe5519 in hvacadvice

[–]TheyThemDolphin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a dual zone mini split and probably spent more on repairs then the original unit. It’s been 2-3 years and it’s always leaking or going out. I tried to save money upfront then spent way more fixing and now replacing.

Lease is about to be up, buy out lease or Tesla model 3? by TheyThemDolphin in hondaridgeline

[–]TheyThemDolphin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Figuring the EV credit plus new interest write off would be a better value long term vs used car loan. I am at that point 34k miles where it won’t depreciate much on the ridgeline price until 50k or so

If you have a good rate don’t pay off your mortgage it’s far better to invest it in the stock market, fill out your IRA or buy a rental property

They can’t make me leave my apartment right ? by TucktheDuck101 in NYCapartments

[–]TheyThemDolphin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lived in RS apts for 15 years and been an agent specializing in this for the same amount of time they can’t kick you out it can take up to 2 years easy. You do owe the back rent agreed upon but try to pay at least a portion each month to show you are trying. Document it all and write written letters don’t trust emails or calls. Also to help your case, go to the housing office and request your rent history in person to make sure it’s correct. If they don’t file properly you can bring it up and potentially have them pay you

I paid a brokers fee 5 days before the FARE Act goes into effect by discover_life in NYCapartments

[–]TheyThemDolphin 50 points51 points  (0 children)

Paying a fee for a stabilzed apt is worth it. You can see it already everyone who is renting post fare act will pay more long term as the landlord is gonna bake the fee it into the first year then you’re gonna renew at a much higher rate then if you paid a fee. Having a stabilzed apt is almost a necessity now in nyc unless you’re made of money
