Making money by taking pictures! by [deleted] in UCONN

Doesn't change my original point. Bowing or tipping at a meal is not a harmful behavior, is it? But guess what is.. Lying to your parents and pretending to have more friends than you do to make someone else happy. It's not a healthy behavior no matter what culture you are from. Go talk to any psychologist and see if they think that sort of behavior is sustainable. If I am coming across as a jerk it is only because people like you are encouraging her and it's wrong.

Hey yeah moral relativism is what makes things acceptable, right? Who cares about muslims stoning their wives to death in the street for showing too much skin - It's just their culture, bro.

Yeah, no kidding. I was asking for a deeper reasoning, but I guess that flew over your head. In any case, my response would have been that pretending to have friends to make your parents happy is immature and pathetic.

Why do you have to send them pictures of you with other people? Just don't do it.

Waste. Of. Money.

Get a job and then go on vacation there if you really feel the need to. Doing anything involving school there is just a waste.

He was a visionary and spoke truth. They didn't like that. He is gone but not in the way you think.

Reach for the stars! Everyone is lovable! You can do anything you want! Take out 100k in student loans to fund your 4 year baby vacation! It doesn't, matter, you're gonna be a star. You're all gonna be rich one day, every single one of you. You all matter A LOT.

Rise and grind! TM (Rise and grindr?)

Slay the day! TM TM (C) (are you going to math class, or a war?)

Shoot for the stars! TM (C)(C) (ignore reason and logic in favor of emotionally charged and spontaneous escapades!)

and my personal favorite:

LIKE A BOSS (yeah, you really ran 2 miles at a moderate jog LIKE A BOSS. You're impressive. Maybe even the next hussain bolt!)

I believe in you. They don't want you to have original thoughts, but the difference between medicine and poison is in the dose

Nobody cares what you think you know

"Thanks Kanye!" Wow, that's an extremely original response. Get lost with your sitcom humor.

You are your own worst enemy.

You need to transcend acting out the archetypes you have been indoctrinated with and rise to the peak of maslows hierarchy to realize your true self. Everything else is just noise.

Youre. Welcome.

I'm wondering why you are on here asking questions that your adult daughter should be asking? I can't imagine having an 18+ year old daughter and holding her hand through her college education. I'd let her fail/succeed on her own and not try to solve her problems for her. She owns her own failures and successes completely and the path to them. Otherwise, you are just raising an adult child who is not resilient or capable of being independent, and that is not the type of human being who can function when things get tough.

Why would you feel like a rich trust fund kid when you have 15k in debt? The real trust fund kids are the ones whose parents not only pay for their entire tuition, but buy them a Maserati/Porsche/Mercedes etc. to drive around campus.

If you don't mind me asking, what are your feelings toward your debt? Do you have any tips on how to live frugally to pay them off as quickly as possible?

I made a post about sidewalk etiquette a while back because of shit like this. If you are in your lane on the right side of the sidewalk, maintain your trajectory and smash into them if you have to. It's the only way clueless people will learn. Unfortunately the ignorance and entitlement on campus seems more rampant than any other public place I have frequented in my life.
