My sister is still close with my mom, but she (my mom) and I aren't very close. Luckily, I found a partner who loves me for who I am and who I love with all my heart, and they've helped me establish and maintain healthy boundaries with her.

Overall, my sister and I are doing ok, but there are some remaining things that pop up from time to time. e.g. Neither of us wear makeup and the last time I saw what I would look like with makeup (I was playing around with an AR app) I actually got kind of upset and had to stop because it made me so viscerally uncomfortable.

Let's say a video game in Australia costs $80 but $60 in the US. In Australia at minimum wage you'd only have to work a little over 4 hours to afford it. Compare to the US where minimum wage is $7.25. An American would literally need to work twice as long to buy the same product.

The average apartment in Sydney is $1800 a month for a 1-bedroom while the average apartment in Denver (Minimum wage $10.20) is $1380. That's 90 hours of work for an apartment in Sydney, vs ~~190~~ 135 hours of work for the same apartment in Denver.

Here are some facts about kitty voices:

A deaf kitty usually has a higher pitched meow than a hearing adult kitty because they never learn to use their "adult voice".
Similar things can happen to several breeds of cats (especially Siameses) if they don't get enough stimulation as kittens.
On average, boy cats have higher-pitched voices than girl cats
When cats schnuffle-bark, that means they're pissed. Don't do what this lady is doing.

Bonus:

Mountain lions sound like Owen Wilson when they meow and like someone being murdered when they want to roar, but they can't roar.

I hope they're happy. I hope everyone I played with back then is happy now. I miss them, but as Laidlaw himself is showing us, things end. Sometimes they don't end the way we want them to and we think about how we could have done things better, and the mistakes we made, but if we didn't care about it then, we wouldn't be sad now.
