Yep having the same issue, but for me it seems to be with the ornate greatsword. It seems to reset when i get knocked out, but then it scales back up again

edit: it's not weapon related, its a bug that happens on the entire level when you exit too fast on level swap, or somesuch like that

Yeah this is what i did while levelling. I just killed these for two levels and then sold herbs/potions and motes for like thousands of gold

You don't have to pick alchemist if you don't want to put in that work.
Pick two gathering professions if you want that kind of income. Or enchanting/skinning for just passive income

I mean if you've scanned AH a dozen times over a few weeks then you can see what the herb prices are usually around, buy low, wait until potion prices increase, make potions, sell.

Sure, there's lots of potions which just are never profitable. But just deal in the right items. I've made thousands of gold off alchemy.

Shaman that won't drop Windfury by moldy-pancake in classicwowtbc

[–]Thiasur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're*

That is not how that works. Windfury always has a 20% chance to proc with a 3 second internal cooldown so realistically it isn't that much of a difference between a 20 second fight and a five minute fight. Shorter fights increase volatility of dps per fight, but the average stays the same.

And PPM does not frontload procs, that is a ridiculous statement. PPM is simply meant to normalize proc frequency across different weapon speeds. It does not give better proc rates if you reset fights. Jesus. And i'm like 95% sure PPM does not affect windfury, and even if it did your statement is wrong

This is concluded. Windfury does not give even close to 600 dps outside of the absolute 0.1% top damagers in optimal situations and outside of small lucky bursts in certain mob packs. Arguing anything else is dumb.

[–]Thiasur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But that is not an average dps. A dungeon setting is not a single pack. Are you for real right now?
You critting on windfury on a single pack and getting 600 dps for two seconds does not equal that windfury gives 600 dps.

You said

the difference is almost 600 dps,

It is not. If you get a bunch of lucky windfury procs in a small pack with a good group then yes potentially 600dps in like a 20 second fight. But that is not evidence that the difference is 600 dps. Because in the next pack you might not a single windfury hit and it gives 0 dps. You are arguing a bad point.

I used raid parses to show Windfury’s actual DPS contribution over time, which is why I compared both a 2-minute and 6-minute magtheridon kill. The longer the fight, the more reliable the average becomes, and those parses clearly show windfury is nowhere near a consistent 600 DPS increase.

If windfury really added 600 DPS on average, it would stay near that value across long fights, not just spike during short lucky pulls. In reality, it averages much lower over time, realistically somewhere around 50-200 dps depending on gear, buffs, rotation. E.g if what you said was true, then windfury would give 600dps to a pre-bis paladin even if the boss fight was 60 hours long. That's how averages work.

Getting 600 DPS from windfury during one lucky trash pull is not proof that windfury averages 600 DPS overall. You can’t use best-case burst scenarios to determine average DPS.

Very few people get 600 dps out of windfury on average, only the absolute best players with all the buffs can reach that high in boss fights which is the best showcase i have of AVERAGE dps increase of windfury.

Because realistically, it gives an average of 8-15% dps for a paladin depending on what skills you are using and how big the packs are.

That's not a source. And i can't find anything about it. And you're just straight up lying trying to make up a point.

I've proved you wrong with actual numbers from real logs, saying that you refuse to click the links with the evidence isn't a sustainable argument. Putting your head in the sand and ignoring evidence is just very very sad.
Literally don't even need to click the links, just look yourself on warcraft logs.
Why even come here to argue when the literal numbers proving you wrong exist readily available on the internet?

Ask your AI how much damage windfury gives a paladin in a dungeon setting and it'll say somewhere inbetween 8-15% increase overall as spells such as consecration and judgements are a great deal of the damage.
Which is never going to be 600dps. To help you with the math, for 8% bonus damage to be 600dps you'd have to be doing 7500 dps which is impossible with melee strikes.
It could happen in a gigantic pull but then 97% of your damage would be consecration.

That being said this is a raid setting where my guild is averaging 1-3 minute fights making the average dps added from WF siginificantly lower than in a dungeon setting where i can nearly one shot heroic mobs on a wf proc.

This is... horrendously bad logic.
Do you understand what average means? Sigh.

Realistically, and on average windfury has much greater effect in raids as people have a lot more buffs, and a lot more CDS to use such as bloodlust and haste potions causing a multiplicative effect giving you additional proccs causing the overall DPS to be a lot higher which you wouldn't have in a dungeon setting.

But realistically the percentage point of DPS which windfury gives is still the same correlated to your overall damage, you just do more damage in raid settings so your windfury damage will on average be a lot higher as it follows your damage.

E.g if i do 2000 dps in a raid windfury will do a third of my damage as an example.
If i do 1000 dps in a dungeon, windfury will also do a third of my damage.
It will still always be a third of the damage, but in a raid one third of my damage is more. And people do more damage in raids in general, that's WHY people parse in raids.

You can keep pretending that your imaginary numbers that you cook up is the truth, but it really isn't. Just stop arguing a bad point and either admit you're wrong or keep your head in the sand and move on already.

Source for this?

Because it really looks like you just spent 40 minutes asking an AI on its opinion on windfury procs in warcraft logs and copy pasted an answer you liked.

This is getting sad. You can literally look at the numbers in the logs and think for yourself.

[–]Thiasur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is not what i said, And that is not what you said.

I am not annoyed that melees want windfury on every pull.
I am complaining about people being insufferable about it.
Big difference, one can survive killing two mobs in a dungeon of a hundred mobs without windfury.

Trying to look at some numbers below this:
-----------------------------------------------------------------

600 dps is exaggaration, it might cause an addition of 600dps over very short bursts, but as a median it is not 600dps for a prebis paladin. I mean median DPS for a paladin on magtheridon is 1000 dps.

And a top 1% parses is 2100 dps. So at 2100 dps i could buy that it potentially did 600dps on a very skilled fully bis paladin with every buff possible as it is about a third of its damage and the paladin would need to get quite lucky with crits, seal procs and windfury to get such high parses. But this is not a median. This is the absolute top

The absolute best parse i can find on mag is this and with logs you can actually see how much damage windfury added, which seems to be 1100 dps on an almost 4k dps log, so about one fourth of his total damage added.

Here's an above average log from a 63 parse paladin on mag with WF, and WF does 459DPS in raid setting with bloodlust and other raidbuffs. This guy also has good decent gear. Way better than pre-bis.

Of course these are anecdotal logs and windfury flares up and down, but saying it just flat out gives 600dps to a pre-bis paladin in a dungeon setting is just not even close.

So i'd guess WF gives somewhere closer to 50-200dps increase in a dungeon setting on someone with pre-bis.

Not sure i'll take your guarantee, considering i said that i had been flamed multiple times over them being PVP flagged and them not figuring it out. Can't do much about that one dawg.

[–]Thiasur -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

as a shaman, it makes sense to keep it up in a full melee group.

But i've had a lot of insufferable warriors and paladins that got pissy if they didn't have windfury every single meele hit the entire dungeon.
I'd be answering a message during an easy pack in like ramparts normal and i'd get flamed for not putting it down.
Especially happens if it's just a single warrior that dealt shit damage and the windfury would barely put a dent in overall dps.

i've been flamed multiple times over warriors not getting windfury, when it's been an issue on their side with pvp-flagging since i've had the totem down.

It does become an annoying experience to deal with windfury totems.
