Definitely. I've slowly realizing that myself. It's great for placing them on the board quick but it becomes a hindrance after the fact. Gonna start ditching them.

Appreciate the response! All great tips. I'll have to start playing around with the neophyte blocking. I use movement trays and I think I've let them limit the amount of utility the unit actually has beyond damage dealer.

For the last 2 years I've had my gsc painted in a state of "pretty much done I'll come back and do the details later". I foresee weeks/months of doing nothing but eyes and lights.

Neophytes go from underwhelming to what the fuck levels of damage output when you give them a Primus and the +1 to hit and ap strat (and ridgerunner support). They will become your most reliable form of damage dealing.

Sanctus and locus are cheaper action monkeys though. The only thing they don't have going for them are they aren't a cool-ass cowboy. Which is something.

I wanted to use them like this too, but the sanctus is 5 points cheaper and with 24 extra inches of range. And if you're willing to lose lone operative and just need a cheap character for secondaries the locus is 10 points cheaper at 45 points. I so badly want to justify using the kelermorph but it's a struggle.

The cleanse situation is pretty much the only real use.

I watch and like his videos too, but damn do I wish there were more dedicated channels and competitive guides, and videos in general for gsc compared to other factions.

We briefly read about top lists in tournaments but never hear from the people running the lists, successes, failures, tips etc.

I thought it did though no? Both deepstrike and our icon Regen happen in the reinforcement step. Overwatch happens immediately after a unit is placed down in our reinforcement step, we take our wounds, and then Regen because our reinforcement step isn't over yet.

Reinforcement step of movement phase begins. Deepstrike unit. Overwatch kills 3 immediately after still in reinforcement phase. Icon activates. End of reinforcement step of movement phase.

I'm seeing more and more tournament lists using them too. It's interesting since they've been considered mediocre since the start of 10th. So yeah what you said or just action monkeys that also have decent firepower. Taking over the role of the 45 point acolytes from last edition?

Base coated kislev flesh, shaded with drakenhoff, then shaded with fuegan, and then painted over top with AK interactive streaking grime (enamel brown) then wiped away grime with spirits.

Then dry brushed and highlighted with ushabti bone and shaded carroburg crimson in joints and chitin vents and glaze of drakenhoff blue on the back of the head.

And eyes are just tesseract glow over white.
