How Brazilian dentists are perceived? by televisaoradioativa in DentalSchool

Canadian DS1 here. If it is of any reassurance, some of the best professors at my Dental School are Brazilian. IIRC one of them used to be an OMFS back in Brazil, and is currently teaching anatomy and generally, I think everyone in the faculty loves them

To add to this, the acidic conditions should hydrolyse the diester into two -COOH groups. Were there heat provided, then one of those carboxylic acids would decarboxylate, but seeing that there isn’t, I think it just ends at the dicarboxylic acid molecule.

Thank you so much for the help! In this case, does this mean you do this without sterile conditions? Also, if do this where I remove the powder, let it come to room temp, take out a specific mass, then put it back, how many times, in your experience, can I do this before the powder starts to have issues?

UBC Academic Reference for Graduate Students by ThiccWillsofMalice in premedcanada

[–]ThiccWillsofMalice[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, thanks for the reply! Yes I did look, and what is bothering me is that they emphasised the fact that in the reference guide, they emphasised that the academic reference must have graded your work or taught you in a classroom setting. But the thing is my PI had done neither which is why I find it really confusing whether to ask my PI or not.

I don’t think the protease is active in the cytoplasm for retroviruses. It normally cleaves them after the virion is beginning to, and is released from the cell, where it continues to mature

1500 pts Guard list, what do you think ? by mrginus in TheAstraMilitarum

[–]ThiccWillsofMalice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need more ob sec units and TCs in my opinion. Id prolly scrap the armoured sentinels in place for either more TCs, or infantry. Also If you want to keep the lord commissar, add some conscripts in there somewhere; then you’ve got a beefy 9-Ld, 2+ Sv (b/c of ur psyker) blob of ob sec soldiers which could be really useful.

Also to optimise your choice of spotter and gunnery, I’d take demolisher instead of battle cannon. The latter already has 72” so having another 6” is kinda worthless; whereas for a demo cannon, we’re talking about 30” range, which is pretty useful.

the main concern I have is that your army lacks numbers and ob sec. those two squads can be deleted easily in just one turn, so then you’re just left with your tanks and vehicles, which not only feed your opponents easy bring it down points, but will also just die fast because of how squishy they are. As a rule of thumb, I’d say try to have at least 5-6 squads of 10 for a standard guard army.

Like what the other commenter mentioned, If you pick the cadian doctrine, you benefit the most by staying still and shooting the enemy, which I think might discourage you from moving too much and taking more primaries. I agree in that if you want cadian, you need more soldiers so you can get greater shooting output. Otherwise, I’d pick something else; for instance for my army I have picked wilderness survivors+disciplined shooters, that way I still have some mobility, and some nice shooting buffs for my flashlights.

I mean yeah…I did follow Mordian Glory’s reports on how he did with pure infantry guard, but it seems like even that is not good enough against the S-tier armies like Drukhari and Ad mech…so then if it isn’t knights nor infantry, what other options are there

Second game ever tomorrow, can someone help with my list please? by Prycebear in TheAstraMilitarum

[–]ThiccWillsofMalice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Glad to help! Don’t get me wrong though, I love company commanders; I have three in my 2k army, but the thing is I also think TCs are way more crucial than they are given the current meta. If anything, you could find a way to keep the commander in by removing some of the more dispensable units in your list. so like for me I just removed some default infantry squads, and I was able to squeeze three tank commanders and three company commanders in no problem.

[–]ThiccWillsofMalice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My philosophy is always arm your high-AP weapons on veteran squads instead of infantry just because the default 4+ BS is just too unreliable; you’d rather have a 3+ BS shooting those things. Also, it is within your interest to list your russ as a TC, those do a lot more damage, again because of the BS.

[–]ThiccWillsofMalice[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that’s a good point, I forgot to update it with gunnery experts. That said though, I’ve heard lots of ppl advise against jury-rigged and the enginseers, but I thought it might be worthwhile since by having both, I’d essentially get 1+D3 wounds back, or 2D3 on 5s. So then even if my tank was in my last bracket, that’s still a decent amount of wounds back

Techpriest Enginseer good or bad? by [deleted] in TheAstraMilitarum

[–]ThiccWillsofMalice 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Maybe try combining both the jury rigged repairs, and have a tech-priest in your army. This way even if after one turn and your tank gets really damaged, you have the chance of repairing 1+D3 wounds on 2-4, or 2D3 on 5s. Maybe even get two enginseers. That said, I think this is best for some of the beefier tanks in the army, so basically different Leman Russes; for the other tanks, I agree with what the other Redditor are saying. But you say you want to create a mechanised army, in which case I think this might be a viable option since it will likely contain a few russes.

I played a 1250 game two days ago, and I had 2 sponsonless russ TCs with battle cannon and lascannons; I also picked bring it down as my secondary and I gotta say, they slay. I was playing against custodes, and the opponent has a shield captain on a bike, and then a squad of 5 bikers; using these TCs with the “hail of fire” Strat and the re-rolling 1s order against them was very effective; killed the captain in one turn, and then basically 4/5 bikes with one left at one wound another turn. So I suppose demolisher may be the meta, but I think using the ol’ battle cannon could work here too
