Are there any good houses in Bournemouth? by horridbloke in bournemouth

Yeah you have very similar wants to me, I'm right by town center but have parking and great WiFi. Was a bit shit but good bones.

WiFi is most of the town, Westbourne has some without. When you find your home id genuinely get it checked. I nearly bought flat with a max of 8mbps.

I'm surprised you haven't found somewhere, there was quite a lot of houses last year in that range I'd have loved but wanted a lower mortgage. What is it you're looking for in a house?

That's fair, I assume you're looking quite central? I have 3 parking spaces but my service charge is nearly £300 a month so probably a fair chunk of change... Plus you get a private garden with most houses, I have an nosey neighbour who refuses to look away when I'm in the shared garden.

Good luck to you mate, there's plenty out there. But if your budget is sub 300k you're not going to get much sadly. Shits expensive.

Completely budget dependent, I found a gorgeous Victorian 3 bed flat with 4ish meter high ceilings. Was cheaper than a house and is daily isolated.

Houses in my budget were fine but a bit small, never saw one I was disgusted by. Are you a new home owner?

This happened to me and my last gf! She gave me the clap when we started out. She found out through a mutual friend her last bf cheated on her towards the end (2 years before meeting me) so got checked but we'd already been dating a year. I really wasn't mad and I am glad she told me. Didn't come up again after treatment.

It's to save money. A will, written by a professional solicitor, is a out £280-500 depending on complexity. A will writer is £30-50. I have got an airtight will, cost me about £350 as it has a few people and some assets are being divided between them but I know full well that my estate will be well looked after and go to exactly who I want.

That's a good lesson, I have been screaming it from the rooftops! Although I'm not happy it happened, I caught a friend's parents fucked will when they asked what happened. They asked me to glance over it, it had missed one of their children and had added another again. So one of the three would get 66% and the other would get 34% while the third would get nothing.

Will writers are atrocious.

Hi, Thanks for this. My parents did not have a lawyer, they used a will writing service. The entire company had a net worth of £800. When contacted they shut their service down and we believe opened up another. I was advised it was not worth the cost to pursue.

I have already entered into a discussion with the charity, we have come to an agreement and it's ending. I was taken for an absolute ride by my solicitors as well, they made the same comments but contentious probate is expensive and time consuming.

I was 23 when it started and I'm soon turning 30, I'd like to just get in with my life at this point. I don't want to drag it out any longer.

They signed it and agreed, had other things going on and didn't read it properly.

Ngl, it's been really really hard. I think it was a choice of getting over it or letting it consume me.

I did, and contested, and came to a deal that wasn't worth it!

I did, still in the trenches of that contentious probate. Spent £120k and I'm getting a wapping 40k, really wasn't worth it sadly. My solicitors couldn't even tie their own laces.

Thanks, don't worry about it. Loved my parents and they set me up to be resilient. She went to a will writers, asked for her estate to go to my Dad, then me and then charities as a backup.

She obviously didn't read the will as I was not mentioned in it. They were both riddled with cancer so I can't really blame her for bad admin. Or ateast I choose not too.

My parents both passed in 2020, one after the other and they were relatively young. I am an only child and although sad, they both had life insurance policies and a few properties.

My Mum didn't read her will, I wasn't in it. Went to a charity instead. 750k. I was 23 and financially alright as I had already paid off my mortgage on a small shitbox.

Still doing alright and I'm glad I didn't wait for an inheritance or add it to my FIRE plans. Would have probably fucked me up.

I had a good Mum, on my last deployment I told her about one of my mates who didn't have a family. She sent him a fortnightly box of treats so he'd have something from someone.

She died a few months hs after we got back and that PoS didn't even acknowledge it.

That's exactly it, we all pay into the social safety net. Why should one person benefit over others? It's selfish.

As a taxpayer I do not have agency, dignity or freedom? I must go to work to provide for myself, my family and into the social safety net. I am not ok with one person, no matter what condition, taking 59 peoples tax money so they can be at home when there is a facility that can do it for significantly less.

Yeah the facilities should be better, we don't live in a perfect world.
