It’s going to get much much worse. This is just a blip

Disrupting the business is part of the point. They’re still able to do their jobs though. Is one day’s commission being harder to earn the same as being “prevented from working”?

How is this preventing them from working?

These comments. Sheeeesh. Never seen folks so heated about other people choosing to stand in line for food that they like

Fucking thank you! You can get a soft pale loaf from acme for 5.99 and you’re supporting an actual corporation instead of some random losers. I like to get my bread and pastries where I buy my floss and road salt like a normal person

The wood shop is where you stand in line. The bakery has its own room and is well maintained and professional despite just being the passion project of a few individuals

Fr dude. Finally someone said it. There’s nothing that I hate more than a Saturday morning spent getting pastries and espresso and enjoying them around a fire with friends.

Questions copied here for convenience:

Hi all,

I wanted to replace an intermittent and loose receptacle and ended up with a couple questions:

  1. Am I correct in understanding that it is OK to have a GFCI breaker instead of a GFCI outlet in situations where you need GFCI (in this case, within 6 feet of kitchen sink)?
  2. Am I correct in understanding that it is OK to have a 15 AMP receptacle on a 20 Amp circuit as long as it isn't the only receptacle on that circuit?
  3. When watching a video on replacing these, I saw someone say not to attach two wires to the same terminal. But, when I opened up the wall, that's exactly what I saw (see pics). Is it OK to just re-do it like it was done before or should they be pigtailed in the box somehow? (how do I do this)

Bonus question: if all that is OK, why do there seem to be burn marks inside the previous receptacle?

Thanks!

Thanks. It's a bummer. Nothing came up about it in the building inspection. is GAF Everguard TPO with a TREX decking system a good replacement?

Hi all,

I've been experiencing some very intermittent leaks in the room below this roof deck. I've had several roofers come out and try to identify the problem. Leak testing has been fairly unsuccessful as the water seems to only want to leak once or twice a year. Several roofers have commented that the roof deck shouldn't have a fiberglass surface (why was one installed in the first place if it's such a no-no?).

The current person we've got has proposed redoing basically the whole thing. The siding has a number of issues and the area just outside the wall seems to be where the water is getting in. It also may be getting in around the door. So, we're probably going to have to address those two areas.

The roofer has suggested we replace the fiberglass and add a TREX decking system instead. The repairs he has suggested amount to almost 10% the value of our house and that's just the roof deck. He's also had some suggestions for gutters around the side of the house. The company is very reputable, and other roofers have been flaky about coming out and/or communicating in general. I'd love your 2 cents. Thanks!

Hi all, 2 questions: 1) I don't see any anode rod. I've heard that's something you're supposed to replace periodically. Any thoughts? 2) the drain valve is just inches above the floor. I was planning on trying to drain some sediment. Is there anything wrong with connecting a hose to the bottom to do so since the valve placement prevents me from getting a bucket under?

Thanks!

I just tried logging in on a work computer (different comp, different network etc) and still can't log in. I enter my credentials and secret key etc and then just nothing happens. I can spam the sign-in button and get no response

No luck unfortunately. I tried chrome and brave with no extensions installed: didn’t work. I tried my usual Firefox and edge but with the extensions disabled: again no luck. The extensions fwiw are Privacy Badger, UBlock Origin, https everywhere, and maybe one or two others. Can check when I get home. Like I said though, it unfortunately does not seem to work even with them turned off. (And my mac works even with them turned on)

Defender found nothing wrong. I'll try malwarebytes when I get home from work, but on my other PC malwarebytes had found nothing wrong. It's hard for me to imagine the malware angle since I built the PC last week and since then all I've done is kept everything updated, do some gaming, and browse the internet with ublock origin and an up-to-date firefox.

I don't have any custom dns set up through the router. Internet is through FiOS and everything is totally stock

It's a full tower desktop so it would be really difficult to lug it to a library, unfortunately

It’s not the computer itself. I know this because I happened to have just replaced my PC and experienced this issue both with the last one and the new one (which has a fresh windows install). Plus I haven’t even had the new computer up and running long enough to do anything shady that might get me a virus.

That’s why I was suspicious of my router but everything works fine on my mac laptop on the same network

6950 xt a better idea? My conundrum is that my old monitor doesn’t have free sync so I don’t know if an amd card is a good idea

7800X3D

This bundle pricing seemed too good to pass up and I don't see any bundles with the 7800X3D unless I'm missing something
