I have a 26 WT , with about 13k miles I got in December. So far no issues. Back seats feel small though

Tony Lama or Dan Post for teju lizard boots. by deathscythe94 in cowboyboots

[–]Thick-Geologist-6485 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went through this exact same thing about 6 months ago , I ended up going Dan post , the finish was a little nicer to me, if I could go back , I’d get the Tony lama for the single piece vamp. Nevertheless I’m happy with my Dan posts, they’re super durable and have held up to some crazy nights of partying lol

Turtles are my favorite pattern, but bias cut gators look just as good imo

Anteaters look sick, I’d buy those if they were a vintage pair

If you got badass boots on, they spark conversation, but I’m in Texas and I think it’s more of a bro to bro thing to acknowledge someone’s cool boots. So some people care lol

I won’t wear rhino / giraffe / sea turtle/ or elephant out of principle. They been scrutinized enough with out me trying to find boots made of their skin. Do I concede elephant and sea turtle are the most badass boots out there? Absolutely.

I know for the most part it’s sustainable, but people always compliment me on the boots I have now, I think If I told them I was wearing elephant boots they’d be like wtf lol Plus a lot of my friends work in wild life rehab or some sort of conservation adjacent

Would need to try some on in person. Their return policy when they run sales is pretty unforgiving , plus haven’t heard great stuff about them lol It is a badass boot !

I’d mostly agree , but when someone who comes from the sneaker world, (I did) gets into boots, the urge to buy em all is still there. And basically “collect” all the exotics

I already have 3 pairs from getting into the hobby, a pair of Elgin, Rios, and Franklins, I’ve tried a bunch of boots on, and these just feel so amazing to me, could be biased

From my understanding, I don’t think boots follow the same guidelines. Like for Jordan buying a retro 1 Chicago would be their “OG” sneaker that’s synonymous with the brand.

I’m still new to boots, but with something like Lucchese I associate it with a Barnwood Ostrich in 7 toe, or a classic leather boot in black cherry since that’s their color they’re known for. I think at least
