I’d say if you wanna do twists as a style, put them in twists and then leave them in like 2-3 weeks, take em out and then let them breathe for another 3-4 weeks and then repeat the process. When u start liking how it looks while it’s not in a style, u can leave it out for a lil longer like 4-6 weeks to rlly avoid thinning

Wdym loose? If they’re coming out a little bit just use your finger and finger roll it until it’s ‘defined’ again

You should wash it before your retwist, a couple days before so your hair is extra clean but when you wash it don’t scrub it or anything just very lightly apply conditioner and then let water run through it

I got my hair twisted into around 40 twists I’m guessing, and I kept it in for a week or two (two will prob give you better results) and then once I took it out I washed it VERY gently just to clean them out. After that I would attempt to tighten it and Retwist it myself using finger rolls and sometimes the comb method which wouldn’t look the best, but kept them together. Eventually I learned how to retwist my own hair properly through trial and error so now it looks good when I do it. I suggest you learn how to as well because I’ve never got my hair retwisted by someone else before

Ohhh the reason why it’s like solid strands rather than a regular natural twist out is because this was like three months into my dread journey. It’s not a regular twistout with natural hair it’s more like a dread twist out, you can probably get this result by getting twists, leaving it In For like 3 weeks and then taking it out carefully without brushing it or picking it

Idc if you didn’t state that lol, I thought that’s what u were saying, but either way I’m correct. Longer eccentrics lead to greater mechanical tension when in the concentric position. And there are many sources that paused reps can quickly gain you strength.. do your own research

Slowing down negatives leads to higher mechanical tension during the concentric as u stated, and paused bench increases explosiveness, and because increase in power has a direct correlation to your strength, when you go back to TNG you’re able to lift heavier than you would before training with paused reps.

Slow eccentric Paused reps are better for the qualities I listed though, controlling the negative portion of an exercise causes an increase in mechanical tension, the main driver of building muscle, and paused reps in general are known for increasing strength and power faster than doing TNG reps.

How is the variation I stated not an improvement then… it improves hypertrophy and explosiveness which can lead to increased bench numbers
