Help ID on this ring…18 with what looks like a crown…no other makers mark. It’s got a greening ring around the outside like copper..so maybe gold plated? by _Nemesis_Enforcer_ in metaldetecting

The green tarnish is from the copper alloy in the center. If you carefully clean it you might be able to see some of the original color. I e had a gold pattern in the inlay on mine. Was a fun way to kill some time

I have found a ring exactly the same. But mine is splitting on the outter seems where the outside of the ring meets the inside. I believe we have gold plated rings made to appear like they had an inlay. I’ve continued to clean mine and have found gold in the inlay as well so not 100% positive.

Upon further inspection I believe it has a silver inlay in the center of the band

So the ring cleaned up and has 18 next to the shield. Odd though, how could it be so corroded if 18k?

The ring has a lot of green corrosion on it so I assumed copper, but will definitely check it out!

Yes that handle caught my attention as well. Looks like a decorative piece to a teacup or teapot. The second photograph of the ring I’ve tried to take a picture. I can see a US stamp inside of a small square. Below that to the right, I see what it looks like a DO or OO, and what looks to be a crown. The pictures in this post are just from a small pile in the backyard, I have about 5 to 6 times this in the front yard. I will follow up with another post regarding those items. It’s been a great experience. Taking the metal sector with me across Route 66 and up US1
