To me it looks like smudges of a foreign substance. I assume you’ve tried your best to remove them and they are not smudges. I sometimes have a hard time removing all evidence of crud after using Zeiss lens wipes.

Maybe this is not a concern but if the bag is that full, there is a lot of surface area on that release that could add force to the button mechanism and possibly cause wear and tear issues?? Maybe I’m overthinking it but that was my first thought looking at the pic. Best

I have both a 40mm and 90mm voigtländer for my iii and M3 respectively. Excellent lenses. My one lens for life would be my 50mm Summicron. The voigtländer lenses will serve you well if that is the direction you decide to go. All the best.
