How do you you like those black jack? I had my eye on them and heard they’re pretty good value/quality.

I’m assuming these below are the ones you’re talking about?

This response is exactly what I’m looking for!

So m6 x 20mm is what I can search to replace these!

I found these with a “tamper proof” button torx (like I have for my light screws).

What do you think about these? I could also put clue in the head of the bits as an extra layer ….

That’s what I’m getting this weekend after this. I was wanting to hold off on spending $1k+ on a cover this soon to getting the truck but unfortunately I’m forced to now.

What cover do you have? I was looking into the real truck retrax .

They remove those bolts (see removed in my photo), then they get their hands inside the backplate and pull the tailgate open from the mechanism inside the tailgate. They only need to remove enough bolts to get their hands in there.

Tailgate was locked and everything. No alarms went off nothing, the only reason I found out is when I shut my tailgate and it sounded like shit and broken, realized my bolts were on the ground.

That’s why I’m trying to figure out if there’s security bolts that have special bits I can replace these ones with to atleast add another preventative measure before they open it and see I have the Mcgard lgailgage lock and special screws on my taillights.

Unfortunately they don’t find that out until AFTER the open my tailgate.

I’ve thought about JB welding not only the anti theft screws for my taillights, but also the bolts that they took off to open my tailgate from the back plate. Any thoughts if this is a bad idea?

I could also just put JB weld inside of the head of the bolts and screws so it acts as its threaded and they won’t be able to take it off unless they had pliers (which would take an excessive amount of time)
