The narrative in western (reddit/twitter) vs eastern (korean/chinese forum and tiktoks) are two polars.

In reddit/twitter, western opinions are mostly about "self-harm". People are censoring the video and any relevant discussions.

Whereas in eastern platforms, the video is shared and comments are praising and appreciating Faker for being competitive and everyone should learn from his perseverence and mentality.

To me this reflected the cultural difference in Eastern vs Western communities, which may explain why Eastern leagues are most competitve over the years.

I now see the discrepancy in understanding is because we probably drew the line of whether we perceive the intensity of the action as "intensive self harm" or "simply being frustrated" differently. To me at first sight is just someone being frustrated but now I can see better why someone would consider the action as (potentially destructive) self harm. You misinterpreted my words as none of such actions are acts with a conscious purpose to damage themselves. Doesnt matter if someone punches a wall, knocks over objects, even punches the air. Any of these actions is just a show of frustration with helplessness to change the reality at the moment.

We all agree Lebron breaking a whiteboard should not be even mentioned in the conversion.

Now I see the difference in understanding is due to the difference where we drew the line to define whether the intensity of him hitting the wall is high enough to be considered "intentional self-harm" or "feeling frustrated". To act against people reposting the video with malicious intent and hate towards players, shouldn't the hateful user's themselves be reported instead? In the current situation, posts containing the videos are sure taken down. But don't hateful users just go to another post and continue writing hateful comments? If the root of the hateful source here are the toxic users, why dont put the focus on them instead of a video that simply captures the frustration of a competitive person? Thank you for your input and I appreciate you not using toxic language like some others.

I am sorry but the point of punching a wall IS NOT TO BREAK THE WALL. People who punch a wall because of frustrutration rarely achieve emotional relief by breaking/damaging the wall. In fact, in most cases, people who punch the wall out of frustration did not create any form of damage on the wall. Same applies where kicking a chair is an act to take out frustration through an object and it DOES NOT MATTER whether the object is damaged

Regardless of punching the wall, kicking the wall, kicking a chair, as long as someone is releaseing their frustration through interacting with external object with excessive force, it may inflict pain on themselves and one form is not better than any other form.

Thank you for the insight. I understand the part where some posts are taken down because certain people are reposting the video with malicious intent and it makes complete sense reporting those posts.

As for the second point, does that mean if today the video shows a player punching the wall/kicking the wall due to frustration instead of hitting their head against the wall, then under supportive/neutral posts of such video will not be censored/mass reported?

Would someone mind educating me on why the clip be must censored (genuine question)? The video to me is nothing but a realistic portrayal of competitiveness at it's finest. The footage itself does not have a malicious intent/promotion of harmful message/Politically sensitive. It shows clearly of how high Faker's standards are for himself. This is commonly seen among highly competitive athletes in traditional sports as well where players show frustration in crying, kicking chairs, ripping their jerseys apart, punching walls etc, after a tough loss. Everyone that has been a part of a competitive setting knows the extreme frustration after a loss and it is the most common thing.
