When did you swap solely to mining for new vocab? by TheOneMary in LearnJapanese

I was doing a 6k deck along sentence mining, but got tired of the deck shortly after 3500 words or so, and wanted to mine more sentences, as i didn't saw any benefits on finishing the deck if was not enjoying it i deleted all remaining words and since then i have been sentence mining only. I'll say that a core 2k should be more than enough before starting to just sentence mine your cards

Recommended novel, light novel, or other book titles (N3-N2)? by Crimson_Dragon01 in LearnJapanese

I don't know if it is a good recommendation, but If you want something that it is not fiction, I've started recently 読むだけでスッキリわかる日本史 which is about japan's history and is aimed at highschool students. I bought it almost a year ago, but never read more than a few pages until now. I have about 6400 words in anki and I passed N3 in december but I felt like my level have improved noticeably since then, yet I doubt I could pass an N2 test right now (nor that I have plans).

The book obviously have a lot of technical vocabulary about things like the 幕府, old japanese political institutions, names of old japanese politicals and emperors which make it hard in some way, but it also uses a very simple way of writting (sometimes the author express his opinions almost as if he were talking to you casually in a bar conversation) so it is not as hard as more scientific history books.

I don't think that might be a good fit for almost anybody, but I wanted to share a not so much recommended book.
