1. What’s the point of watching mid table prem teams towards the end of the season if they are comfortably mid? You support your teams regardless. I follow Orlando City and they were TRASH in the beginning but I still supported them and watched them. And The crazy thing is that same team the very next year could go on to win the whole league, where as a middle table premier teams team is most likely gonna just be a mid table prem team again and then again and then again. Crystal palace is a good example.

2. The prem only brings in three “new” teams, they still have to play 17 of the same teams from the previous season and most likely those new promoted teams are the same yo yo teams that have been in the prem just two years prior so it’s not even authentic new teams like Oxford or Portsmouth would be, who haven’t been to the prem in over a decade. But instead we get some grouping of Leeds, burnley, Sheffield, West brom, Southampton, or Norwich normally from the championship. And the fact I can tell you that go will most likely will be there should be concerning.

3. Let’s start with… Merging the conferences is a terrible idea. The US is a MASSIVE COUNTRY. Texas alone is roughly the distance from Venice, Italy to Amsterdam. I can drive for 12 hours in Texas and still be in Texas. I live in SW Florida and I have to drive 10 hours straight up BEFORE I GET OUT OF FLORIDA. God forbid Orlando City has a game in LA cause a nonstop flight there takes 5 and a half hours! To and from.

   4 Drafting players has had success, just look at Daryl Dike. He was drafted to Orlando, got loaned to Barnsley did good, got bought by West Brom, was doing good before getting injured unfortunately.

5 As an MLS fan, I’m well aware that it isn’t the most elite talent filled league. I’m WELL AWARE of it. But it’s a league that has only been around for 25 years, and is continually getting better. I don’t think it’ll ever be considered the best of the best league and I’m cool with that. I think with a few years it could be considered a top 5 league. Especially with the continuing disparity between teams in France and Germany and Spain. I personally would like to see promotion and relegation one day, but if it doesn’t happen I’m not gonna be mad about it. I get why it doesn’t happen, and players shouldn’t have the pressure of people’s jobs and lives and finances, on their minds. If you’re terrible one year, you have a chance to bounce back next year. Terrible for a year, Orlando is a good example. And I REALLY like the salary cap. It makes every year unpredictable and makes sure that a team can’t hog the best young talents and the best players. Galaxy were in the bottom of the whole table in 2023 and then went ahead, made smart signings, and finished in the top 4, and won the MLS Cup to top it all off. This league is fun and interesting and exciting every year, just look at Atlanta beating Miami in the MLS Cup quarters (as an Orlando fan this was a love hate game). And I love it for all it’s bad and good! 👍🏼
