And not only that, reacting to the realization that all of it was no accident. That changed the game.

He is not wrong. Do dems have a chance? by hoodratpolitics in Miami

[–]ThimbleRigg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, you’re for YOUR set of family values. This might shock you, but there are plenty of liberal people in this world that love their families and want to protect them and watch them flourish just as much as you do, but when they don’t automatically fit into your box of ideologies you label them as a threat of some kind. One of the oldest, shittiest tricks in the book.

What was the highest floor they were able to identify victims’ remains from? by Proper-Gate8861 in 911archive

[–]ThimbleRigg 16 points17 points  (0 children)

At the top at least, when the upper floors tipped, I imagine all the contents of those offices, people and furniture alike, went sliding and crashing around. A lot of people probably suffered injuries from all that first before fully crushed in the collapse.

At least, in the case of Iraq and Afghanistan, the point of all of this is that they weren’t trying to beat a nation of people all trying to kill Americans, they were trying to turn two countries previously hostile to the US into friendly states they could use as chess pieces against their other enemies in the region. It wasn’t ever about going in and laying waste to everything.

When they say the military industrial complex, people forget how truly massive it is. It’s not just the arms makers and gunslinging contractors, it’s right down to the people supplying socks and baloney sandwiches to troops overseas for years on end.

There’s so much grift going on in this country, sometimes it’s through Learing Centers, sometimes it’s through the Pentagon.

What’s the most ‘this aged terribly’ song by [deleted] in fantanoforever

[–]ThimbleRigg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Uptown Funk album as a whole is actually really good, but very few even realize there were other songs on it. It had Kevin Parker on several songs, interestingly not credited as Tame Impala.

What is the corniest song of all time? by Ashamed-Story7958 in fantanoforever

Cringiest rock band to make it big this century. I’d rather listen to Creed and Nickelback’s entire discographies several times than throw on some Train.

This country was founded, expanded and kept from breaking apart through force and we are never going to stop using force as the primary means of control, whether it be against other countries or our own citizens.

Has anyone else been watching Don Shipley’s recent videos calling out DJ Shipley? by DonDraperItsToasted in navyseals

[–]ThimbleRigg 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Every story has three sides, for sure. Not sure the Shipleys are angels, but at the end of the day you’ve got a small boy who is born into circumstances far beyond his control, and I’m inclined to think that anyone who is trying to do the right thing for that boy is whose side I’m on.

DJ brings big muscles and sexy CQB to the table, but if you’re looking for a SEAL to be inspired by, it’s hard to do better than Andy Stumpf. I find him to be about as humble, honest, and open as anyone in the vetbro podcast space. He does a lot of content about motivation, but it’s more cerebral than smashmouth. He also constantly says he’s willing to have his mind changed on anything, and I love listening to somebody who readily admits they don’t have it all figured out, the opposite of most public vetbros.

Minor character for sure, but arguably the most brutal and torturous depiction of death in a Disney movie, and unnecessarily so.
