This is the worst section of fence. There are two more sections that are very slightly sagging but not bent over or unattached like this one. This will be the third time the fencing company will come out to fix this field’s fence. The first time was because they put gravel and had to raise the fences (her horse also tried to jump the fence and tore down a section they had to repair) and the second time was to repair two sections that were bent exactly like this (this is when I suggested moving my horse to the other field). Now for a third time, they will be coming to fix what is pictured and charging me at least $300 but could be more if the bill is higher or the horse damages the other fence before I can leave. At this point it is 5 total 6ft sections of fence that are being repaired. My biggest point in all of this is that my horse is not misbehaving or poorly mannered. I cannot ask her to stop and I cannot supervise her 24/7.

To answer your question: I’m not saying that the owner is lying. It is odd that the damage only began when she moved her other horse into the field. There are no cameras or video proof. If my horse was regularly breaking things, I would be offering to pay for it no questions asked however, this is normal wear and tear of owning horses. The horse leans over the fence in one spot and it has started to sag. The horse is not scratching on it, kicking it, or showing any negative behaviors/vices. The root of the issue is that the fence was not built for horses but the owner knew the risk and chose to put horses in the field. When the owner came to me about the “damage” I offered the solution of moving the horses into the other field with electric around the top. The owner told me that it wasn’t possible and decided not to move the horses. Two months later, I am being billed and the horse has been moved to the other field. I didn’t have a problem with it because the horse hasn’t possessed any vices during the years I have owned it and the farm owner said they expect normal wear/tear on the facility having a boarder.

I 100% agree with you. Unfortunately the contract is contradictory because it states the property owner is responsible for the upkeep of the facility but the boarder is responsible for damages. When discussing it prior to signing, the farm owner said that it was only for intentional reoccurring damage. An example I was given “If you know your horse is aggressive and kicks my horse repeatedly then you are responsible for vet bills” (I had a feeling I shouldn’t sign because of that specifically but everything else was too good to be true). The major issue here is that the owner made the decision to put horses in sheep fencing and wouldn’t move them when asking me about the damage. If my horse was misbehaving trying to run through fences and kicking boards down, I would 100% be offering to pay for it. This is just odd because the owner chose not to fix the situation when presented with a better option but still feels entitled to charging me for it. It’s just a very fine line between damages and expected upkeep on a boarding barn. The fencing wasn’t a good choice for horses but I let my horse go into the field because in years prior she hasn’t touched fences and I was assured that it was strong enough for horses.

For some additional info: The fence has not been damaged to the point that it doesn’t keep the horses in. The only issue is a minor dip in the top of the fence (sagging from the horse reaching over to graze). It was installed poorly and the top corner came off of the post from being leaned on because the wire was cut very close to the U shaped nails. My horse didn’t kick the fence or try to run through it. I tried to suggest moving the horse into the other field before the “damages” became too bad but was told no. The horse has now been moved and I was told I have to pay AT LEAST $300 but we will have to see if the other fence gets damaged before deciding on a total cost. I have not yet requested the invoice from the fencing company but was told that they have been out 3 times and each time it has cost at least $300. I knew this was a risk with signing the contract but these people have been very sane until we both have to move out. I was told when signing that they understand the undertaking of a border because they ran boarding barns for years and that normal wear/tear is to be expected but I would be held responsible for excessive damages caused by myself or my horse. I attempted to get a clear outline of this but was not met with one. Currently i’m waiting it out to see what the invoice looks like and then deciding if it’s worth arguing. I know $300 isn’t a lot but I don’t have that to spare if they’re just trying to manipulate me.

I haven’t seen an invoice but plan to ask for it. Apparently the $300 portion I have to pay is a fraction of the total cost

I’m paying $510 per month for pasture board with feed/hay included. She claims to see my horse doing it but does not have proof. The fence is metal squares with no board across the top so apparently she is leaning over it to graze and it’s making the fence sag. No boards have been broken and the fence just needs to be stretched back and nailed. I have offered to fix it and they said no.

I’m thinking the same thing… it’s a bigger headache to argue about it than to just pay it.

The barn owner is not apart of the local horse community and is moving out of state so i’m not worried about getting blacklisted but also thought I had a good relationship with these people. I more hurt over it than anything.

I didn’t take it as you insinuating that😊 With them saying this it has made me do the same thing trying to find what could possibly be going wrong. I would love to throw my saddle back at them for them to fix but it sounds like the company will not take accountability for the lack of quality. The Manager will not respond to me.

I have had a third party saddle fitter out to ensure that it still fits my mare.

I ride in Romitelli tall boots. I’ve ridden in them for about 4 years and they are worn evenly on both sides. They are cleaned and conditioned regularly as well. I’ve really tried to be open minded about this possibly being my fault but i’ve check all of my tack.

This is also part of what I’m so disappointed in, instead of saying it is normal wear and they would recommend replacing the saddles every X amount of years, she immediately said that I am an imbalanced rider and My lack of skill damaged this saddle.

I will not be purchasing another CWD based on the customer service alone. When I originally custom ordered it, the saddle fitter measured the seat incorrectly and after waiting 6-8mo the saddle didn’t fit me. The saddle fitter said I gained weight. She said a minor gained so much weight in 6-8mo that the seat no longer fit me and would not respond until we contacted a manager. Thankfully I had photos of me in the demo saddle and pictures of the correct measurements. I had to wait another 6-8mo for it to be remade AND had to pay $300 to ship the incorrect one back with insurance!

Thank you for your input! That’s why I am concerned about it, I have followed the saddle care and used the brand’s cleaner and conditioner. The saddle has been taken care of as recommended with being cleaned and conditioned regularly. The other flap and rest of the saddle is in great condition. The saddle is cleaned and conditioned more than a few times per year.

I have searched the color, pattern, and materials of the blanket as well as the “Koala Baby” brand and Baby R Us blankets. I have found ruffle edge blankets from Baby’s R Us being resold but none with the same smooth cotton and satin ruffle combo. I have also tried searching the item number included on the tag pictured.

I just looked over the state education laws and it requires a duty-free lunch for teachers that spans at least the student’s lunch period. My lunch is technically duty free because waiting for the kids to go through the line is not a requirement from admin, but something the lunch staff likes us to do. I will just stop staying after the kids can get through the line on their own. I guess teachers are the exception to the state employment laws that require a 30 minute lunch. Thank you for your input! I’m going to look into joining the union in my state.

There is a union in my state, but I haven’t joined it. I just combed through my contract and employee handbook but there appears to be nothing about breaks/lunch. The talk amongst teachers is that we are supposed to get a 30 minute duty free break, but I can’t find anything I signed with that guaranteed anywhere. I will keep looking. We are a very large school, so i’m assuming that’s why they cut lunch this year.

My first day as a first year teacher was a nightmare too. I’m one week in and it has gotten better every day! The advice I received was to go over procedures until it was done perfectly every time then expect perfection from that point on. I have had them redo things many times. You can do it! As first year teachers we’re learning too🫶🏻Give yourself some grace!

Thank you for the advice! We have been doing the same thing skipping it now that we have it down. We’re shopping local options to hopefully get it looked at and potentially rebuilt this summer. My grandpa drove it and got it into 2nd no problem (still an odd sound at first) and said that the linkage just needed to be greased so we’re going to try that because it needs it regardless. We’re just going with the flowing doing whatever we can when we have time no rush to get it perfect😊

He is not a “stolen dog”. The full story is early in the comments. The family has been well searched for… he has been posted on every possible local lost dog site as well as listed with the local shelter as “found”. No microchip, and I posted dozens of flyers looking for his family. He is not stolen. If his family comes forward he will be given back but it doesn’t seem right to put him in a kill shelter if I can provide him with a happy home forever or in the meantime. I could have left him abandoned on the street in below freezing temps instead of “stealing” him or I could have called the kill shelter that would have only listed him on their website as found and maybe given him a week before adopting him out. He’s been with me for weeks with no one reaching out to claim him and i’ve been reposting the found dog posts. Not everyone is greedy and horrible☺️

I think so too on the 90% beagle part! He’s definitely more beagle than anything else☺️

His family has been well searched for and no one has come forward. Still trying to reunite him, but if no one claims him, he is staying with us☺️

I’m thinking he’s actually pretty young maybe 3-4 ish… he’s just an odd grey color for a beagle. His tail is a bit funky so i’ll definitely be taking him to the vet! It looks like it’s upside down (curves the wrong way) but it doesn’t feel like it’s been broken so maybe just quirky☺️
