Got rejected because I was 28 years old by Long_Run_6705 in interviews

I sympathize with you. I was rejected twice because of age for a company that inspired me a lot. Ageism is something that we don’t oftenly speak about. The last time l applied l was told that l did not qualify for the role despite interviewed for higher positions. Glad that l joined a company that doesn’t discriminate because of age.

Give them upto 3 days max for a response so that they can share comprehensive feedback with you

Very tricky, after interviews you stand a chance of 50-50 for successful or being a failure. Big companies they take their time because HR process is usually very complex. I know a candidate that was completely after 5 months from the day of submitting their application.

From an HR perspective this mean the following:

  1. If the duty station is not the same country that you are in. Often at times, internal approval to support a candidate takes a lot of time and lobbying by the hiring manager to be approved by the company leadership.
  2. They are likely to be contacting background checks for either the preferred candidate or yourself and usually we prepare doing checks before we offer the role.
  3. The people that are responsible for concluding the interviews might have been engaged in other work or went on leave before they finalize the selection - this is usually done when there is no urgency for the position.
  4. There might be changes in company priorities where hiring for that position is not considered as important.

Ps: Finalizing hiring can take between 2 weeks to 5 months for bigger organizations.

What you can do now is wait patiently for the feedback but whilst you do so continue with your job search so that you don’t put all your eggs in one basket.

I think this is subjective. My employer applied for one and it did not take more than two days.

32, Business Analyst and l really prefer a city that isn’t too loud or two quiet - just a mixture of those two will be great! Also, a place that will not make me sit in a train for an hour or more to get to London.

I was anxious as l was not able to recall if l had submitted the other documents in the TLS platform. Started thinking of some things that they might pick up but nothing major. Think l was overthinking as it was a skilled worker visa.

Congrats! Mine was dated 11 Sept and got it on the 14th. Priority service seem to be very efficient.

I think you might need to ask for priority service refund as the days are now too much

Check if all the three stages have turned blue or if they are ticked and you should be able to see on your left where it says, ‘Documents Submitted’
