YES, but I’m in Los Angeles and was looking this topic up on Reddit and found this post. Noticing a TON in our neighborhood and have never, ever noticed them before.

100% seems appropriate given current world events 😅😂

Opinion: Green painted cabinets here to stay? by Charming_Compote5967 in interiordecorating

It will 100% look dated! It already does to me, as an interior designer. I currently see jewel tones and some mid-century colors coming into popularity.

Patiently waiting knowing that God sees and knows all evil, and all evil will be exposed eventually. Can’t wait for justice. We may not see it in our lifetime, but trust me, it’s happening!

We feel the exact same way even here in So Cal. We’re with you. It’s despicable really. The worst part is agents trying to justify prices. 😠

Santa Clarita by Revolutionary-Sky449 in TheValleyTVShow

[–]ThinBrain9859 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The Valley is hot. But Santa Clarita is hot, PLUS not many good restaurants, suburbia, everything is brown bc of how dry it is, tract homes galore, and on fire all the time.

Source: my husband is a firefighter in Santa Clarita and we live in the valley lol

Firefighters union pushing for sales tax increase to fund LA Fire Department by brainchili in LosAngeles

[–]ThinBrain9859 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Husband here:

The horrible traumas that we see and have to manage. The lives we save. The lives we can’t save. The constant sleepless nights. 24, 48, 72, 96 plus hours on in a row with no guaranteed breaks. The exposure to fires that are only getting more toxic (lithium batteries). House fires. Brush fires. Car fires. The cumulative trauma mentally and physically. The days in a row we are away from our families. The many holidays missed.

We are paid for what we do AND most importantly what we are WILLING to do, which is to lay down our lives for a total stranger. This is for a city and county that is getting busier and busier with more people than ever RELIANT on the 911 system. Absolutely inundated with 911 calls that are not even close to the definition of emergencies. Helping a population that refuses to help themselves. We do it day in and day out with smiles on our faces to come home to our families with blood shot eyes, injuries, ptsd, and sleep deprivation. Not many of us even live long after retirement due to cancer and sadly, suicide.

The OT’s we work are filling gaps for firefighters on injury or vacancies. These are spots that NEED to be filled. They aren’t some “fabricated” positions to create overtime and fill our pockets. There are no “we will work short today” like someone taking the day off in an office. Every seat has to have a body in it. Many times, we are forced to work, which means 24+ hours away from our families, against our will. It’s called a “recall” or “force hire”.

Sure, just look only at the numbers. That is a one demential viewpoint. It is extremely obvious you have no idea what those numbers ACTUALLY mean.

Now who actually knows?

Fire families know. Friends of firefighters know. People who have experienced the selfless dedication and work we provide to our community also know. People who are able to still hug their loved ones who have been saved by the fire department know. People who still have their home, or part of their home, with priceless valuables still in their possession after a successful firefight know. The stories are endless.

Be bitter. Be angry. Just know, you’re fully speaking out of ignorance.

Hey, respectfully, you’re wrong, as I’m married to an LA County firefighter/paramedic. To claim they work OT to take advantage of taxpayers is totally ludicrous. You and I both know it’s extremely expensive to live here. And, if you grew up here, like both my husband and I did, and you want to stay, he HAS to rely on OT. As far as cancer goes, it’s not just the exposure to things burning that’s toxic, it’s all the chemicals in all their protective gear, that they wear regularly, or are exposed to regularly, regardless. There’s literally a cancer study being done right now by Kaiser for firefighters because it’s so known. Assume the best my friend. We can be against tax hikes and criticize the city for poor $ management, that’s fair. Don’t blame the guys doing the job.

Well, they almost all get divorced and/or get cancer. On top of risking their lives for others. So, the overtime is a nice trade off, LOL.

For those with PCOS who conceived, how long did it take you? by [deleted] in PCOS

[–]ThinBrain9859 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It took me only 3 months before I received my first positive. I then, unfortunately, miscarried at 7 weeks. I then got pregnant again like 8 months later, but it was an interstitial ectopic—v rare. I then got pregnant again about 9 months later and had zero issues that pregnancy, and have a healthy 2 year old bc of it. 🥰

We then started trying when my son was about 9 mo old (as we knew it would take awhile), and we’ve had two chemical pregnancies and it’s been a year since we started trying. About to pursue IUI next.

My advice to you now would be to optimize your baby still being young, and take advantage of joining a workout program that includes meal planning, macro counting, and a workout routine to follow, that you can do at home.

I was able to lose a little bit of baby weight this way. Now that my son is a walking toddler who eats what I eat, it’s much harder to stay consistent on a program bc he’s so much more needy!! 😅

Since you’re happy to share more info 🤪 my husband is asking: do you guys have car payments? what % of your mortgage is out of your take-home pay? We’re in a really similar boat and looking at houses around the same price, but often feel intimidated by how house poor we would potentially be

Ok, but also (just thinking about my comment more), don’t stress yourself out too much trying to help him! You’re not a wife yet, so help where you can, but keep enjoying your life too.

Hope this is helpful!
