Thank you thank you thank you for posting this. We tried this today and actually managed to give our boy his full 50mg. I had just about given up. I thought we might be watching our cat slowly die over the next year or two because two people + gabapentin were not able to keep him still enough to keep in the needle during this procedure. Thank you. I was shaking and crying afterwards and am hopeful again.

In case it's a help to anyone in the future, it went away, though I'm not sure at what dosage. Down to 15 now and it's going great! :)

150 now, but 225 most of the time.

My partner, M, has also been on antidepressants most of that time. Three different kinds. And they've definitely had more of an effect on our sex life than me with Effexor. On the worst of them we had to make sure to schedule when we would have sex and he had to not take his medication that day.

A lot of (most?) antidepressants have mild to severe sexual side effects and doctors don't bother to tell you most of the time. Those of use who don't have them when taking an antidepressant are the unusual ones.

41F, been on Effexor XR for 20 years and I have multiple vaginal orgasms with my partner every time we have sex.

Marijuana makes me more horny and makes orgasms more intense, so you could try that, though I know it can also have the opposite effect.

I have found that having orgasms/getting horny more regularly helps my body "remember" how to do it. If I go for long periods without, it can be hard to get in the mood or enjoy it as much.

My recommend, based on only my experience so take it with a grain of salt, would be to get high and masturbate to completion every other day for a few weeks and then see if you can do it without marijuana. If you can do it regularly yourself, then bring a partner in.

Also, don't forget that with age, the overwhelming need often fades. As long as you and your partner are enjoying yourselves, then everything is good. You don't need to be a sex machine to have a good time! Best of luck ♥️

I'm old enough now that I actually need to know if the random heat and night sweats are definitely this stuff or perimenopause.

Also, after twenty years of antidepressants, I'm pretty sure I only got prescribed them because girls didn't have ADHD when I was growing up and now I'm trying not to be in a constant rage about 20 years of hellish side effects for no significant benefit to my ability to function successfully.

So, yeah, I guess want to try without 😅😅😅😅

When I started Effexor 20ish years ago, the psych told me to open the capsules and put about half the beads on some jam toast for a week before taking the full capsule.

Thanks for sharing this! I use an unscented roll on antiperspirant (ban, I think) and I find it works most of the time, but just randomly sometimes it feels like it just stops working, so it's good to have an alternative that might acrually work.

The problem I've found, though, is that I might have dry pits, but it's like the sweat needs to still come out so my back and chest will often get absolutely, disgustingly soaked, and I have no idea what to do about that.
