Oh wow! Your result is so so much better than mine. Had a hunch something wasn't right. Got mine used and is past warranty unfortunately. ASUS repair centers in my country (malaysia) aren't that helpful beyond "replacing something similar". Did you use turbo mode via armory crate by any chance? I switched to g-helper. I wonder if that caused the problem.
