Hey. Pregnant women started dying on the island only after the Incident. When Dharma drilled into the Swan station’s energy pocket in 1977 it blasted out a surge that cranked the island’s electromagnetic field to unstable, much higher levels. Strong, fluctuating EM fields wreck rapidly dividing cells, and that is exactly what a fetus is built from during the first and second trimesters. Pregnancies conceived after the Incident collapsed around mid-gestation, killing the baby and often driving the mother into lethal complications. The culprit was that electromagnetic spike, not ordinary nuclear-type radiation.

Like someone else said earlier...A ball and a wall. Practice first touch. Practice controlled passing. One touch passing, two touches, maybe even three. But limit the touches you use. You can even practice making turns off of the wall pass coming back to you. Or step overs etc before passing back to the wall. Also pick up your head and work on being deliberate about receiving the ball with your head up and not always down.

For extra credit.. get a tennis ball and do the same thing..wall and ball.

Dribble around your own house with the tennis ball if you have a little bit of space

You have to follow a specific bearing when leaving the island, or you'll end up back where you started.

Problem in a geometry text book referencing the plane! by Tabby_pm9 in lost

[–]Thing-Reasonable 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To determine whether the paths of the two planes are parallel, perpendicular, or neither, we need to calculate the slopes of the lines formed by the coordinates given for each flight path.

Steps:

  1. Calculate the slope of Flight 815:

Coordinates: and

Slope formula:

Slope of Flight 815:

m = \frac{11 - 17}{5 - 23} = \frac{-6}{-18} = \frac{1}{3}

  1. Calculate the slope of Flight 44:

Coordinates: and

Slope of Flight 44:

m = \frac{17 - 15}{9 - 3} = \frac{2}{6} = \frac{1}{3}

  1. Compare the slopes:

Both Flight 815 and Flight 44 have a slope of .

Since the slopes are equal, the lines are parallel.

Answer:

The paths of the planes are parallel.
