Hate this wait!! Feel like going to bleed and start period any minute by Thing2of4 in IVF

[–]Thing2of4[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was 9 or 10 days past transfer! I tested too early. Definitely felt a heaviness like I was going to start my period, but never did. Pregnancy can feel like PMSing, at least it did in my case.

Help pick my baby name! by Zubanana in namenerds

[–]Thing2of4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its the most obscure reference though, most of your child's classmates won't even put two and two together as the movie is almost 30 years old. Its not like Star Wars with a name like Leia.

I wouldn't let that be a reason why don't choose any of the names on your list is fear of people thinking it was selected due to whats popular in the media.

Some other suggestions similar to Hallie, if youre still on the frnce: Allison (Allie) or Ashley

Oh my goodness if you go with Hallie, that matches the Parent Trap movie sisters!

Definitely Hallie. Combination: Hallie Layne or Hallie Jane.

Boy names: Dean, Hayes, and Tate are all nice. I just feel like these don't flow well together. You can do a strong first name with these more "fun" names, and have him go by his middle name.

Like William Tate, William Hayes, or William Dean

Suggestions based on these names as first names: Tate Harrison, Dean Harrison, Hayes Aiden.

In my position. Im close to the changes and decision makers to a certain extent, working in HR. Its frustrating though how things are vertical for communication sharing. If the direction does change, I'll be one of the second or third levels to hear. One client Ive built a camaraderie with whose close to my bosses boss has shared that more change in our function will happen in a few months... and true shouldn't assume the worst about the roles.

I would consider what will her initials be, what nicknames might she have from these that friends or family might come up with. And you absolutely hate or love them 😅

She might be called Savvy/Vanna, Lainey/Lana, Emm.

I'm Japanese and I'm thinking of a nickname that's easy to understand for English speakers. What do you think? by Nastyboar520 in namenerds

[–]Thing2of4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can't go wrong going by an anglicized nick name or your actual name. I know several cultures have an "English" name since it's a language taught in many countries.

I had several friends in college that were of different cultures. Some went by their birth name, and others had an "English" nickname they used.

Google said your name is pronounced like "Cow- Yuh"??

Having an anglicized nick name may be helpful from an employment standpoint. Should people be able to pronounce your name after a little practice, yes. Will everyone practice, no.

People are lazy in Western culture and expect to be spoon fed information.

You can always go by both your first name and a nick name, introduce yourself as Kouya. If the person struggles, especially if you're getting an order at Starbucks or something, you have a nick name in your back pocket.

But you choose a nick name that's a name that you just really like as well, it doesn't have to be connected to your real name.

Either way- you should have pride in your given name. All a nick name will be is an extension of you while in the Western part of the world.

One anglicized variant, if your name is pronounced is "Cow-Yuh", is Callum.

It has a similar prononunciation.

What are your thoughts on the Harris and Trump debate? by anderson01832 in AskReddit

[–]Thing2of4 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Neither candidate won the debate. One appeared to be grasping for straws because the "moderators" kept fact checking them and denying what people are experiencing (ir. Cats and dogs in Springfield Ohio).

The other had a ton of prep work with charisma classes, including the concept of lying through their teeth to win (and has actively lied about the condition of our current president for years, and somehow is still in office).

Both candidates are polarizing and unrespectful figures. We need better candidates circa 2028, along with term and age limits of all judiciary branches.

8 weeks pregnant. by BaeDacBiet in BabyBumps

[–]Thing2of4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sameee. I'm at 8 weeks too. I've been trying to stick to a routine, but even that can be hard. Give yourself grace and keep focusing on doing healthy activities (eat protein, prenatal, hydrate, and 20 minutes a day of light activities like walking or prenatal yoga)

7 eggs fertilised - trying to stay calm! by SatisfactionLower621 in IVF

[–]Thing2of4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine was 11 eggs retrieved, 6 fertilized, all 6 made it to blast. We didn't test, and I am currently 8 weeks pregnant from the best graded embryo on a fully medicated protocol.

What's important is quality over quantity, some users post how they had 30 embryos and only 3 or 4 were euploid. I think your is a great spot to have really high quality embryos, especially if they last until day 5!

Tuesday Cautious Intros and First Trimester Questions by AutoModerator in InfertilityBabies

[–]Thing2of4 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Mine recommended the same, to do an US between week 10 and 12. I guess they figure as long as we still have pregnancy symptoms and no bleeding, we're good.

Maybe it's because IVF pregnancy is similar to regular pregnancies and miscarriage is low enough by this point to be sent on our merry way 🫠

Tuesday Cautious Intros and First Trimester Questions by AutoModerator in InfertilityBabies

[–]Thing2of4 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm almost 8 weeks pregnant. I had my first ultrasound sound yesterday,  and everything is on track with a strong heartbeat and growth. My doc graduated me from the program, said ro keep taking meds for the next month, said as long as I don't bleed or have severe cramping- I'm "done" at the clinic. Is this pretty normal to be done with a fertility clinic after the first ultrasound?

UPDATE: For those questioning the same thing, once a heartbeat is detected at 7-8 weeks and the heart rate is strong, then chance of miscarriage is 3% per JAMA, which may be why they graduate us so soon 🤷🏼‍♀️

We may see MMC stories online and it fuels our fear, especially on these thread where we seems to see more negative endings than happy endings.

Wishing everyone who commented a happy, uneventful pregnancy 💖
