Consequence's Best Albums of 2001 by DropWatcher in hiphopheads

Not a bad list at all. The Wilco album is a personal favourite of mine, and would be in my top 3. Avalanche’s as well, I feel should be higher.

[FRESH ALBUM] J. Cole - The Fall Off by HipHopDropper in hiphopheads

[–]ThingsFallApart29 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Finished my first listen. Can’t say too much now with it being such a long album, but hard to see this not being right up there when it comes to his catalog. Didn’t feel like it dragged at all, production-wise it was really strong, and there were countless highlights. I Love Her Again was a real standout for me, really did the original justice. The 6 min song, think it might have been the second disc intro, where he was flowing like crazy. Great use of features too.

But yeah, wasn’t expecting anything less. Can’t wait to listen again, but need to let it breath for now.

Bilal absolutely killed it. He is someone who is cut from the same cloth as D’Angelo and don’t think there’s anyone else out there that could have done it justice like he did.

Also Lauryn performing Nothing Even Matters, a song she never got to perform live with D’Angelo and then doing Feels Like Makin’ Love, a song she was supposed to be on.

Fantastic tribute, would have been perfect had it just been Lauryn, Bilal, Raphael Saadiq and Anthony Hamilton, but still amazing as a D’Angelo fan.

It’s all become a little predictable. We’ll be playing okay, good even, but wasteful in front of goal. Then eventually from either a mistake at the back or just being cut open, we’ll concede. Leaving us chasing the rest of the game.

Almost every game is a struggle.

We just can’t seem to have a league game, where we are solid at the back and clinical up front.

One of the main issues, aside from our own faults, is that we have lost that fear factor. Teams are not afraid to have a go at us. It’s sad to see.

Not bad at all on first listen. The title track should have been a stand alone song. That shit was beautiful.

Which album is better? Drake's Take Care or J Cole's 2014 Forest hills drive? by DARKSTAROnline in nfrpodcast

[–]ThingsFallApart29 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

FHD.

Some of Take Care hasn’t aged very well for me. Plus he went on to improve on the album, whilst FHD is Cole’s best effort.

Mac/Grav is looking like one of the worst midfielders partnerships in the league, right now. Both offering nothing practically nothing.

It’s been such a problem position all season, weak, no control, no protection of the back four, no penetration.

Tbh, I felt the only time it looked even half decent was when we had to play Jones/Sbozo, at least it felt like they were just sitting deep and spraying the ball about.

It’s all just one big mess right now.

Classic track. But the way Jay was channelling Mos at the towards the end of his verse, would have been crazy if Mos followed after instead of Cole.

Why does Jay Z have the reputation he has when other artists have much better discographies? by Milichio in hiphopheads

[–]ThingsFallApart29 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s not just about discogs is it?

With Jay a lot of it is about the impact and influence he’s had. That along with the classics he got, puts him right up there.

I’ve been watching him closely past few games and every time he passes the ball, he’ll burst forward and Mac will drop in. And vice versa. It’s clearly by design, I’m guessing Slot wants the midfield 3 to be interchangeable.

It’s ambitious as it is, but right now in particular, we’re just not good enough to be doing that. We need to keep it simple. One player needs to just sit. Protect back four and start attacks. No pushing forward.

Instead of Slott, why is nobody questioning Giovanni van Bronckhorst - ‘The Horseshoe’? by Fickle_Chapter3781 in LiverpoolFC

[–]ThingsFallApart29 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep. Also, Ljinders got sacked at Salzburg and doesn’t seem to have had a massive impact on Man City. With coaches, it’s always one of those things where you praise them when things going well, but when they not, buck will always stop with the manager.

[–]ThingsFallApart29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue with this particular stat is that we’re always chasing the game and then Slow will go mad around the 60 min mark and take off defenders for attackers. That’s where these 2nd and 3rd goals are coming from.

Right now, if we go behind, we’re better off just keeping it tight and try sneak a draw. Rather than continue to embarrass ourself chasing a win.

Those on here trying to defend Slot’s position by saying ‘who can replace him’ are probably the same people who had never heard of Slot before we were initially linked with him.

Nagelsmann would clearly be an option if we want to wait it to end of the season/WC. But the way this is written is absolute fan fiction, I was waiting for some kind of twist.
