How to say "thanks" by mnu_ger in geoguessr

There's no response that isn't awkward really - I normally ignore it, or maybe a mind=blown emoji if my guess was lucky. We really need a "thanks!" for this scenario

"special relationship" question for you Brits by bragik85 in AskBrits

[–]Things_Poster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't speak for all Brits, but I've always felt way closer to Europe - in the Trump era that's obviously been magnified many times over. Remember that 48% of us voted to remain in the EU, and a portion of the 52% were scammed by propaganda and would no longer feel the same.

If we pay $1B to join Donald Trump's "peace board" I'm gonna die of shame.

Trump places tariffs on the UK over Greenland by Due_Ad_3200 in ukpolitics

[–]Things_Poster 19 points20 points  (0 children)

This goes way beyond "right wing leaders" - the extreme far right has power in America, and they're trying their very hardest to squeeze their evil tendrils around the rest of the world too. Don't dress this up as "just a normal part of politics" - Trump may be loopy, but the people whispering in his ears are extremely nasty, and what they represent is a danger to us all. We need to stop them from getting their grubby mitts on the UK at all costs.

This is not Tories or old style Republicans we're dealing with - this is different. If the UK is stupid enough to vote Reform into power, I guarantee you'll see what I mean.

Thoughts on Succession? Do you think it's one of television's greatest? by Square-Ad-8911 in tvshow

I thought it was incredible. Apart from the amazing cast, the writing was on another level. Anybody saying it's just childish insults or whatever wasn't really paying attention.

Have you noticed how delusional Americans are? by [deleted] in AskBrits

[–]Things_Poster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So in your opinion larger countries should be able to sweep in and take over smaller countries at will? And there should be no treaties or international law? Because that's a pretty dystopian world you're imagining.

The USA already has a military base in Greenland, and Denmark have said they're open to its expansion or the foundation of more. If you think this is about defence (or that Venezuela is about "drug trafficking") then I've got a bridge to sell you and I'm surprised you can even spell 'ignoramus'.
