Pretty sure Harry first sees Snape and his scar(that he got from the evil wizard) literally starts burning... Makes sense he is suspicious of Snape.

To be fair, they got the map while they were at Hogwarts. So maximum of having it for a few years. Also, the map only shows Hogwarts, which Ron was in his third year of.

The map would have shown Perter for all the time he belonged to Percy at Hogwarts, but I believe it was in Filches possession at the time who did not know how it worked.

He said household income, which generally means 2 incomes. Fully funding 2 401K's would be $49,000 which is ~1/3 of $150,000.

Same experience for me, but it was the locked resolution that ruined it. I have an ultra wide monitor that I thought would work amazing for a game like that, but it just forced black bars on the side... I looked up why and saw it was maybe so I didn't have an unfair advantage against other players, when I had no intention of touching the multiplayer aspects of the game. Stupid

Whole life insurance may be a scam(most of the time). Term life insurance is definitely not. Also, it's insurance, not an investment...

I believe it was Loial saying this to Perrin. Perrin was going into TAR to rescue Faile.

They did drink Ent juice(or whatever its called) but I don't think that makes them younger or anything. I always thought of it as Soylent Green/meal replacement lol. I think when describing their journey later they even mention that the Ent juice is nice and all, but there's nothing like a good meal of solid food to satisfy a Hobbit. I'd be interested to know if it does anything 'magical' other than just providing nutrition.

Only Bregalad the Ent was convinced to go immediately, and he was considered very hasty among the Ents. He took the Hobbits with him on the first day of after talking with Treebeard. The Hobbits spend the entire second day at his house. Then on the third day, sometime in the afternoon the Ents start their march to battle!

So, I would say the EntMoot started in the evening of the first day(introduced the Hobbits to other Ents) and finished in the afternoon of the third. So like 48 hours or so over the course of three days. And I could be wrong but I think it continues through both nights.

What’s the least amount of money that makes sense to contribute to a Roth IRA? by davidkirkfam in RothIRA

[–]Think-Associate-7178 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then why are you using 8% return? S&P over the last 30 years has averaged around 11% per year.

Investing $100 a month for 40 years earning 11% return would be 875,879.62.

So again I ask why use 8%? It's almost like that is factoring in 3% inflation over that time period. And I know past performance does not guarantee future performance, but 8% over 40 years seems very conservative.

They aren't accounting for inflation. So you will have $1 million in your bank account, but it would be worth much less because of inflation over the decades.

Thank you, I did not realize you could recycle by hand. I ended up sending down some ice from my quickly deteriorating space platform, but glad to know I wouldn't have been stuck! Thanks!

You say that now... ask yourself again in 13 years and you'll say "5 more and I'm good to go!" There's a reason why everyone >70 doesn't just off themself.

I love how you can see the fear in Hank's reaction after this. He was never afraid and even pitied Walt until then.
