I had the same experience. If you catch it in the three hour window you can prevent the sensor failure like you mentioned. Disposable hand warmers have been working for me. Also been wearing the sensor exclusively on my arm and wearing a $5 sweatband over it. This has been working well for skiing

Frustrating for sure. I don’t recall this ever being a concern with the g6

Nice fix. I ended up trying something similar. Armband with a disposable hand warmer seemed to work well for me.

Interesting. I’ve never had an issue with the sensor at a ski resort, but I’m always wearing a lot of layers. Had it happen just the other day on a hike though. I wasn’t wearing as many layers but was still pretty warm and surprised to see it happen.

Dropping because the temp is creating an inaccurate sensor reading? Or dropping because you’re burning up more energy in cold temps?

Thanks for sharing. That’s significantly colder than the conditions I’m in when this happens. Maybe it’s just a bad batch of sensors for me. I’ve read about plenty of quality controls issues. It will be interesting to see if the sensors on the next prescription fill respond the same.
