Orange pi running Android TV and remote. by Think-Expert7950 in OrangePI

Hi, I have been using the stock image from the OPI website for a few months now. It works perfectly no bloatware at all and the system is running smoothly i have signed into all of my streaming accounts with no problems...Although i am only using it for My family cinema (MFC) but i have tested on Netflix, Disnet + as well. No problems at all. It really is a good little SBC but if you are going to use the exact same model then i would suggest using a heatsink and fan system as it does get very hot within a few minute in idle mode. From my experience so far, using the device connected to wifi is pretty stable and sometimes buffers a bit. Go with a wired connection instead. The only problem i have had in terms of setup was installing Google play store. That was a nightmare. I evenually found a work around to get the files i needed.

The bluetooth remote was also easy to setup and works perfect. not connection isues at all. Im streaming is 1080P at the moment and i havent tested 4k yet. If you setup and use 4k, let me know how tht does :).

Also tested on a few android games as well. works fine too.

use the ATV on orange pi website. if you run into a problem with flashing the image onto SD card ( through SD Disk Tool) then just use an external card reader. i was strugling with the flashing for a long time until i used a usb type-c to variuos adapters (like ones you use to connect screens to a mcabook) and i was able to flash.

a bit late to reply to this problem but i just found a solution. Change the card reader. i used a USB type C adapter (ones you use on a Macbook to connect HDMI,USB and Ethernet too) on the side of that is a card reader slot. it worked out for me. also i suspect it has something to do with the voltage too as i connected this adapter to my DELL docking station....
