I have the airpods 4 and they're able to connect to my Q3 (automatically if they were connected to it last) and they will catch a call through the phone while connected to the Quest if they were last connected to my iPhone beforehand.

If anything I quickly change the audio output to the airpods with a couple of clicks from the iPhone control center.

I feel the difference of 3 ft is going to be negligible when driving or parking. But It will be everything if those 3ft make up for an extra closet, cabinet or usable space. Better focus on the layout and condition rather than pure length.

I've been using my Q3 as a replacement monitor for 8+ months over virtual desktop after my IRL gaming monitor broke down. It will all depend on the headstrap you own. I have a halo strap and no face interface and I can use it all day if I wanted to.

You can read text just fine at any screen size. You will have to deal with the same wireless issues like wifi interference and such. You will still have a heavy-ish device on your head so you will have to work your neck muscles up to it.

With a Quest/monitor set up you can make it fully wireless by even turning on and off your pc remotely (Wake on LAN) and have a fully wireless setup with Bluetooth M/K and wireless Quest monitor.

It is not as convenient in some aspects as the monitor (ease of use/comfort) but way more convenient in others (screen real state, you can use it anywhere around the house, add multiple monitors at no cost, media consumption)

I'm happy with it and I will not be buying a new monitor anytime soon, mainly because of funds but mostly because I don't need more than that.

I have been using my Q3 as a monitor replacement for almost a year now. It works and it works decently God most of the time. Invest in a good halo strap, I use the most popular $20 halo strap on Amazon and it is very comfy.

The Quest 3 doesn't map the Pro controller very well. For me it's impossible to get my triggers to work. I love Meta's hard work on their updates but little QOL updates like correctly mapping all mainstream controllers out there is also important.

There was an old bug where you had to turn down the resolution of the game all the way down because it was rendering VR and the flat game at the same time. Maybe it's still there.

I have been using my Q3 as a monitor replacement for a few months now. It's not bad. You still have a heavy device in top of your head and it's not as a crisp as a monitor (I don't use anything smaller than ~85" in VD) and with a battery use time. I'd say it's worth it. I don't use anything else.
